Favorite "official" house?
I'm getting bombarded a bit by the CC houses and am going to be in a position sooner rather than later of actually *wanting* one. I tend to stick with one of the three Hearthfire houses but I'm curious what other people use. I'm more interested in the official houses (non-Nexus) including vanilla, the DLC, and the Creation Club stuff. Of course, house *improvement* mods are very welcome!

Just for context my PC is an Argonian scholarly adventurer-type. He's not much of a mage, not much of a warrior, and not much of a thief. He's very much a jack-of-all-trades kind of guy who loves kids and would love to have a lot of them.

I’ve always been partial to Breezehome.

It’s small, and doesn’t have a lot going on inside, but Whiterun is a great location (especially if you’re not fast traveling all over the place) with it being in the central part of the province, and all your shopping and crafting needs are literally right outside your door.

I don’t have any of the CC homes, so this is just my opinion in regards to the base game and DLC vanilla homes.

Same as Fear2288, I do like Breezehome as it has everything close by but I recently discovered Hendraheim and that will be my new home once I've levelled up a bit more, currently level 34 on my 6th play through.

hmm difficult, because I even have the basic homes modded even some CC ones. If I factor in modded vanilla homes I also tend to breezehome although heavy modded

Yeah, back in the Oldrim days I liked Breezehome (and it certainly is one of the more heavily modified ones). I like the challenge and customization of the Hearthfire homes, though. Still not sure what I'm going to do but that'll be a ways in the future. I'm still frolicking around on Solstheim (RP game, I have a big bounty in Raven Rock so taking the boat is out of the question).

EDIT: I think I may focus on the CC farm (whatever it's called, I can't remember). I played with it a bit a while back and found it to be interesting without being grandiose.

The AE DLC offers at least 4 more homes which are beautifully done. But none of them offer sleeping for stewards or followers.

I still like Lakeview Manor after all these years.

Ot's great, for a Alchemist, and u make gold, with out even doing anything. It's by far the "homeiest" home

Bathing Beauty Luxury Suite is my favourite for modded home..

For vanilla, Lakeview Manor is definitely top in my list...

Riften Honeyside.
It has that old and cozy feel to it.

It's not too big and not too small either. Comes with a nice lake view balcony - and now with the AE i have few fishing spots just right outside it.

For Hearthfire it would be Lakeview Manor, in Base game I would probably say Honeyside.

As for the CC, by utility alone Golden Hills is by far the best, for aesthetics, I think Hendraheim looks the best.

part from Myrwatch, it's the only home for me. If it was closer to Whiterun, be better still.
I like Whiterun, I could live in the city, but not in breeze home, compleatly ignored it.

Simple cottage livin is best:steamhappy:

Yep Golden Hills is my favorite CC home too.
However on Survival it's location in the world is a bit annoying - a tad too far from any of the main cities.

Being able to buy a carriage driver for the farm like you can with Hearthfire homes would be nice.

Proudspire Manor in Solitude
Hjerim in Windhelm is good too.
I like the CC houses too, but I still feel those two are better houses.

I prefer Heljarchen Hall.

It is located around central of the map, there are no pesky "impossible dragons" nearby (like Lakeview dragon spawn can ride around the lake, mountains and where ever, getting stuck somewhere in the middle), Whiterun, Heljarchen, college and Dawnstar are quite easy to reach.

I don't mind snowy area. I DO mind giants getting occasionally too close, but I have mod that allows me just to beat them, instead of killing them.

- That was NOT nice. GTFO from these lands and take a bath, or I will be come for you toe!
