How do I stop guards attacking me during a dragon attack

I just started a new molded game, level 27 right now. so far dragons have attacked me 3 times in Falkreath, twice in White Run, twice in Riverwood. Had to get the run for your lives mod to keep the towns folk alive. But if I accidentally hit a guard they all start attacking me and my followers. Doesn't matter that I just killed the dragon. Is there a mod to stop this?

Use Invisibility, let the dragon eat the guards.

All good advise, I suppose if I kill them they will just re-spawn and it won't really matter.

It's a pain, but be careful with a bow, and if the guards are attacking melee back away because they will put themselves between your weapon and the dragon.

Shoot the dragon with bow or spells while they are flying or land on rooftop.

If they are on the ground, either let the guard handle it or use melee weapon against it.

Yeah, stop hitting the guards. Let them whittle down the dragon's HP and then step in when it eats them. You get the dragon soul either way.

OP already has that mod, which is available from AFK Mods.
It does not cause guards to run away, just civs.
