Playing through vanilla Skyrim was great but not nearly as enthralling. Also the bugs dear gods the bugs
mods keep me playing it a decade since.
A lot of people have the time and resources to even enter tournaments or attend events related to their sport or hobby. No one ever criticizes them or attempts to psychoanalyze them. Marathon running could be considered to be an addiction though, as there's a phenomenon knows as a runner's high.
meh sorry but i believe you can be addicted to something and nothing but good comes from it. It just doesnt make sense to me that addiction is always a bad thing that always has bad outcomes.
I have an easier time believing that because people who are addicted to something but nothing but good comes from it. That people just wouldnt apply the word addiction to it. And thats why good things coming from addiction isnt added into addiction's definition.
medically. addiction. what happens in the brain that causes addiction happens.
and i believe it happens regardless of whatever the person who is addicted to whatever it is does good or bad things.
Im addicted to video games. but it has never been bad. ive never lost a job because of it.
ive never hurt anyone because of it. it doesnt negatively affect my life.
but it is more then just a hobby for me. hobby just does not fit my affinity to play video games.
addiction does. but yet nothing bad has occurred from it.yet good has.
when i say nothing bad has occurred from it i mean it to.
ive never hurt anyone from my playing video games.
ive never lost a job because of my video games.
ive never been late to work because of my playing video games.
ive never not done something i said i would because of my playing video games.
ive never not paid a bill because of my playing video games.
my video game addiction hasnt done a single thing to harm my life or others.
again hobby does not fit how much i play video games.
addiction does however. if you look past that addiction definition always including negatively affecting your life. or others that is.
sorry but deep down i know im addicted to playing video games. its more then just a bloody hobby.
and nothing bad has occurred because of it.
as already stated people get into all kinds of thing to extremes even. addiction this does not make.
addiction is a thing. the problem is people use it as social engineering to influence and change what people spend their time on. obviously life itself is a balance and anything can possibly cause issues in ones life when in extremes.
You can roleplay it whatever way you want to, be whatever race you want to, and being an Orc or Khajitt you even get differing responses from certain NPC's, so things always felt slightly different.
But, Mods.. they are what keeps people playing. Can change the game however you personally want it, and, if there's something that you really wish was changed? well someone has probably thought the same...
It's also one of a very small number of games that are both large in size and as accessible as Skyrim (and to an extent, Fallout too. Starfield perhaps as well)
Few developers make games like this, so that is also a factor of why people keep playing this.
If someone made a comparable, more modern game that was just as moddable, or close to what you can do in Skyrim, that would put Bethesda in a very awkward place. The only good thing for Beth though, is games like this cost a fortune to create, which is a massive deterrent.
The Elder Fallout?
Elder The Fallout?
Starfield**
Sci fi with fantasy elements
I think of Skyrim as a doorway or invitation and I accept Skyrim for what it is. Since I plan to play the Hero Route of Skyrim, it seeks someone to act as its champion for either Path in Skyrim, Hero or Dark, but frankly, that all depends on what suits the player's disposition.
