i found a mod i wanted but it has... issues.
i wanted a mod to make my khajiits look more like humands with cat ears and a tail and i found this (careful nudity): https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/23008?tab=description it looked like what i wanted but once in game i ended up with i few issues that i assume were conflicts with my other mods. i want to fix them so i will list the issues i have and bellow you will find links to 2 screen shots that show most of my problems. if you can tell me what i need to do to fix those problems or tell me what you need to know for you to help me that would be great.

1. let's start with the obvious the merchant khajiit, why are his eyes floating out of his head?
2. why do the tails look like that?
3. this one may be normal but i'm not sure so i'll ask anyway, two of the khajiit at the camp don't have ears and the ears of the mechant are weirdly pale.
4. the body and head, their furr doesn't match.
5. the headband is floating arount the head like a halo.
6. we don't see it in the screeshots but there is an other khajiit who's hair is floating above his head.

I am using Vortex but I can't see any green lightning bolt??? where is it?

I been looking at 17 pages at nexus with khajiit keyword on it. Seems like this is the only mod that alter NPC and the rest is just preset for PC or custom follower.

It is not difficult, it just that making a mod that alter specific race is a tedious job so not many modder wanted to tackle that. You are basically asking for all NPC under Khajiit race to have their appearance altered.

when you're viewing all mods, it's under dependencies for any mod that has a conflict. if you don't see that, go in the top right and click the little settings icon. make sure dependencies is checked under that then you can see conflicts. green lightning bolt means conflicts are solved, red means they're unsolved

the mod you sent a link to is the one abraham told me to use but i am currently having a hard time getting to work properly.
also thanks to the image i checked, i put the shadow's humanoid khajiit's before high poly npc overhaul. do i need to change it to after?

most likely, high poly npc overhaul is going under the assumption you want your cats to look like cats, when the other mod says they should look like people. by the way, isn't this modding stuff fun? lol

But should I put Shadow's humanoid khajiit set as after or before? And I can't tell if you're sarcastic or not honestly it's not exactly boring to me but it's really complicated and I'm a complete idiot so it's just taking a while.

After high poly.

High poly would just made them use high poly head, it doesn't change the look of it.

Basically Normal Head > High Poly Head.

Humanoid Kahjiit is basically..

Normal Khajiit Head > Humanoid Khajiit Head

Setting it to after would basically be like this.

Normal Khajiit Head > High Poly Head > Humanoid Khajiit Head

That's how the rules work as far as I concern.

yes, load humanoids after high poly. i'm a dumbass too so i had to figure this stuff out the hard way so i'm trying to help but not be too overbearing with instructions lol

you're not wrong there, but i mostly think the normal khajiit head look like someone hit a puma in the face with a frying pan.

where it shows a cycle, hit view on that popup, then right click one of the lines and flip the rules. do it until you don't have a cycle anymore. for most mods you'll want to remove the rules and manually review what files are conflicting but for those mods we know it's probably just textures from hair mods that have all been put into different mods and are trying to overwrite eachother

Basically the rules goes like this

==================================

Great Moder "After" KS Hairdo

High Poly "After" Great Moder

Caesia "After" High Poly

==================================

End result would be like this...

1) KS Hairdo
2) Great Moder
3) High Poly
4) Caesia Follower

==================================

That is why I was never a huge fan of Vortex when the mod list start to go big, all this conflict give me a headache on how to arrange it. MO2 drag & drop is more convenient.
