i found a mod i wanted but it has... issues.
i wanted a mod to make my khajiits look more like humands with cat ears and a tail and i found this (careful nudity): https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/23008?tab=description it looked like what i wanted but once in game i ended up with i few issues that i assume were conflicts with my other mods. i want to fix them so i will list the issues i have and bellow you will find links to 2 screen shots that show most of my problems. if you can tell me what i need to do to fix those problems or tell me what you need to know for you to help me that would be great.

1. let's start with the obvious the merchant khajiit, why are his eyes floating out of his head?
2. why do the tails look like that?
3. this one may be normal but i'm not sure so i'll ask anyway, two of the khajiit at the camp don't have ears and the ears of the mechant are weirdly pale.
4. the body and head, their furr doesn't match.
5. the headband is floating arount the head like a halo.
6. we don't see it in the screeshots but there is an other khajiit who's hair is floating above his head.

Starting with the obvious one, I'm going to assume you've installed and tested any requirements for the mod you want to use? There are several listed as essential for the mod.

Next, were there any conflicts between it and your current load order? Depending on how you're installing your mods, you have gotten a notification.

In addition, there is a bug report for that mod regarding the tail that may be relevant to some of the issues you've mentioned. I am not familiar with the mod so cannot say from experience.

Does the mod change the skeleton at all, and if yes, do you have a compatible one installed?

First just a silly question, but you have the required mods installed right?
-Caliente's Beautiful Bodies Enhancer -CBBE-
-KS Hairdos SSE
-RaceCompatibility for Skyrim Special Edition
-Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patch

Secondly, i'd recommend making a new save and installing the mods one batch at a time to see where it goes wrong.

i have all the requirements but for the conflicts there were and i tried to fix them myself but obviously i failed and now i don't remember what mods were in conflict with this one and i don't know how to figure that out. and for the skeleton i have no idea, i didn't check and i am as far from an expert at modding as one can get so i have no clue how to figure that out.

and for john i have 131 mods active, it would take me a year to turn them all of then turn them back on and test if it worked.

i'm gonna be honest bro a mod like that is about as jank as it gets and is gonna have all kinds of stupid minor issues unless the mod creator puts in like 537209 hours of work to edit nearly every single thing in the basegame relating to beast races. try and find an alternative like this one[www.nexusmods.com], maybe, that seems to have less issues or just stick with normal catpeople. there's two mods i can think of that kind of accomplish what you want but one of them is only for your own player and other mods that add new npcs using it, and the other also does a lot more things in addition to just humanizing the cat people

Are you installing manually or via a mod manager?

right now i am stuck in a conflict loop that i don't know what to set as what, because the mod you sent a link to needs ks hairdos but ks hairdos in in conflict with the two following mods:
https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/13389
https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/72555
and the mod you sent a link to is in conflict with this mod as well:

those just have bundled assets from the KS hairs mod. doesn't matter which order you load them in because they're loading the same files

And for the conflict with the mod you linked?
Catalyst Jun 29, 2023 @ 9:51am
probably the same thing. what mod manager are you using? if you use vortex you can see what files are conflicting without having to open up the mod's folders and look, just click where it says "___ colfincting files" in the conflict resolution menu. if it's just a dds file the order won't matter

I did the stupid thing and just set one of them as after and right now in the game i am having some issues. and i don't know how to make that window pop back up. right now if my character has a skar on his face it floats in front of it. if they wear a headband it floats around their head like a halo and the npcs i saw have the body of a white person but a black head and i don't have a clue how to fix it?

The more I read the description of the pages, it seems more and more like it was custom race made specifically for player character only just like how cotr mod does.

For it to work on NPC, you might need to find some mod that alter the NPC to those custom race.

Those conflict is because those mod need KS Hairdo, just make sure KS Hairdo is load before those mod does.

for ks hairdos that's what i did, i think but again i don't know how to open that page and change it if i did it wrong. and for the other mod to alter the npc or whatever it is you said I don't know what to do all I want is for the Khajiits to look like people with ears and a tail why the hell is it so difficult
Catalyst Jun 29, 2023 @ 10:05am
the halo is because the game is reading their race as khajiit which have big heads but your mod changes them to human heads, while the armor has a specific model for khajiits that's designed to fit on their heads. far as i know there's no easy way to get around this because every armor piece would either need remodeled, or some sort of flag set inside the files to just not load the khajiit model for headwear. i don't think there's a mod that does either. good luck with that one, lol. the black face bug is because of how the game handles npc's face data, i was never good with that one but some wizard on the nexus found a way around it with this mod[www.nexusmods.com]

Let's slow down because right now I'm completely lost I need to know how to make the conflict window appear again because right now I need to change the things but I don't know what the things are so what do I need to do for that window to appear again
