Is it possible to combine skin mods together?
I'm using Caliente Beautiful Bodies Enhancer mod but noticed a lot of mods I want to install require different skin mods so i'm wondering if these mods will conflict with eachother?

I just want to avoid loading up my game and see that my character is missing some skin textures.

Depends on the mods your installing that require the skin textures. By default you can only have one skin texture on most npc races.

If you are installing mods that add unique npc's such as followers then its easy to give them a texture replacer body of their own, and those textures can be installed anywhere in the Textures folder that dont replace the skin texture used by every other npc.

So again, it depends on what mods you are trying to install.

You CAN NOT combine them. In any way

these are texture and mesh files completely different, no you can't combine them, ever...

make your own? lol

If I knew how I would, too lazy to make a mod.

If you refer to those clothing mod, try look for conversion... most of the time you would see a conversion available.. if not, request for 1.

Simply put, No.

If you try, you're just gonna end up with a headache. You can stick to one Texture and Try and Refit the texture on the clothing, armor, etc. using the Outfit Studio.

Answer is more complex than yes or no.

It is actually: yes, you can. However, each character that uses custom body and textures would require their own folders with meshes and texture.

In theory, you could create a custom body and textures for every single character in the game. There just isn't any easy tool for that. It is a process that must be done manually per character.

Otherwise meshes and textures will overwrite each other, because they are using same file names and are often loose files.

You seem to know a lot about Skyrim modding, I just recently got into it and realize how easy it is since I been struggling with it for years.

Anyway how do I know if two mods will be compatible? Should it say in the requirements that the character requires Caliente Beautiful Bodies Enhancer mod since that's the only one I like to use since most mods use CBBE.

CBBE is the groundwork for almost every other body type in Nexus. If the texture description says CBBE, then it is most likely compatible with it.

Some textures have directly made for specific CBBE body type, but those are a bit rare.

I think think Bijin Skin and Fair Skin Complexion are currently the most popular and overall compatible textures for females. Those are good ones to check out first.

I am personally using
- Bijin Skin, CBBE 3BA body, with my own preset for females.
- Sky Sight Skins, HIMBO body, Whelp to Warrior -preset for males.

you can

- Install CBBE
- Install bodyslide tool
- Install Fair Skin Complexion
if your mod managers find colflic which it should , allow Fair Skin to be "After"
- Install any brows , face parts like better eyes on top of the previous ones
- Install any makeups or CBBE compatible tattoos
- Install Wet function redux

This is the best working combination I've found so far
If you sort them with the right order you'd be fine

If you want to install any other skins rather than Fair Skin Complexion Just read the mod page to see if it's CBBE compatible

Let's just check that we all understood this question correctly.

I understood that this was about separate skin textures - not separate addons to character creation.

Mainly for followers and character presets

If a follower is stated as being standalone, then it doesn't matter if the body is different from the one you are using.

If it says that it uses the default body, then again it does not matter what body you are using, as it will use whatever you have - whether UNP, CBBE, or some other (yes, those are the 2 big ones - despite some people talking about CBBE as if there is no other, much as some people refer to one or another mod manager as if there is no other; and yes, this bothers me - LOL! Those helping (especially those with experience) should be giving complete information - not just information based upon what they use or prefer).

If a mod requires a specific body, that will be stated in the requirements on the mod's Description page. If that is so, then the mod will NOT work with some other body (unless you do your own editing - but if you already know how to do editing, then the question probably would not be asked - LOL!)
