Is there anyway to solve this, I have FNIS in my tools folder of the game and I ran it when I did a clean re-install of it before running SKSE. Maybe I'm just being an idiot and missing a step somewhere. Any help is appreciated

You need to start up skyrim se normally. Just launch it through steam and close out it's launcher. It will auto detect your skyrim se folder. I mean it tells you right there to fix it in the warning...

Yeah when I re-installed Skyrim, I opened the launcher and then closed it afterwards before installing FNIS and yet I still got that message, I just wonder if I somehow managed to screw up somewhere else when installing FNIS with Vortex

Are sure that you are using Skyrim SE versions of FNIS and skeleton? That looks like you are running Classic build tool and using XPMSE, instead of XPMSSE.
I would honestly just advise you use Nemesis instead. Its the same things as FNIS, operated the exact same way, its just more up to date.

Yeah this might be the suspect. the classic FNIS is also at version 7.6, so it might be confusing.

OP, which page exactly did you use to download FNIS?

I used Nexus mods to download FNIS and XPMSE, maybe I downloaded the wrong version of XPMSE that I need

Okay but which Nexus mods version of FNIS did you specifically download?

Instead of FNIS, you could try Nemesis, which is more up to date. I have installed both XPMSSE and FNIS, with Creature support, but none of the plugins are active. I am running Nemesis instead, which reads from FNIS and XPMSSE resources.
