Game doesn't load after adding "Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patch"
I am attempting to add in mods. Some required the "Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patch", like the alternate start mod.
And each time I enable this required patch, my game opens up but is stuck in an infinite load cycle, the main menu, so I can't do anything.
(Vortex is used)

Make sure you are getting the right version of the Unofficial patch for your version of Skyrim.
Also make sure Vortex sorts the load order, otherwise it can cause weird effects like an infinite loop.

Yes order is good and the patch, I only found one.

Do you meet the requirements for the Unoffical Patch?
Does this happen with a new game or only when loading an old savefile?

You could post your load order here, too, in case something is out of order.

I love using mods... but you never really know if they will work or what types of disruptions they will cause. The best practice for me is always loading 1 mod at a time and doing a full game start play for 10 minutes test, before loading the next mod.

Did you load multiple mods at one time? If so you could disable but not delete mods one at a time until you find the issue.. good luck!!

Yes the Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patch is the issue, that doesn't allow my game to fully open.

You could try to set [Papyrus]fPostLoadUpdateTimeMS to 5000 for a test in Skyrim.ini. It will give the script engine 5 whole seconds to finish any scripts after loading. Installing the Unofficial Patch late in the game and with already many mods running might be indeed the issue though.

odd, the official site for the unofficial patch should have the AE and LE versions, and last time I checked the SE patch from before the so called AE update... It was the difference between the SE and AE unofficial patches I was referring to.

Best to post your load order and although i assume you are running the latest version of Skyrim SE, which is 1.6.640, tell us which game version you're using.

Vortex keeps a text copy of your load order here:
C:\Users\[your name]\AppData\Local\Skyrim Special Edition\loadorder.txt

or there's a shortcut in the Mod's section of Vortex. Look up at the very top you'll see icons. Select the folder icon and in the dropdown select "Open Game Application Data Folder", it's the last one.

Then select "loadorder.txt
open it then copy & paste the contents here.

Same confusion here. Looks like they have reverted it to allow players to run the game with the Unofficial Patch, but without all the CC DLCs perhaps. It now requires the "Unofficial Skyrim Creation Club Content Patches", which I understood had been made a part of the whole thing.
smr1957 Jan 20, 2023 @ 1:08pm
Unofficial Creation Club Patch is a separate mod and is only required if a person is using the AE DLC. The Unofficial Patch itself for SSE is only for the current game version (1.6.640 as of now) whatever that version may be - which consists of the following:

Skyrim.esm
Update.esm
Dawnguard.esm
Hearthfires.esm
Dragonborn.esm
Fishing
Survival Mode
Rare Curios
Saints and Seducers

If the OP has downgraded, removed any of the base game content, or is using an older version of the Unofficial Patch that is not up to date, this could be the cause. Alternate Start, for example, requires the current version of both the game and the Unofficial Patch - anything that is not current will result in issues.

Actually I changed my mind. Don't need the unofficial patch anymore and all the other mods like the alternate start. I'll just go through the tutorial each time I make a character.

I decided to go for different type of Role playing. Something that'll highlight the war in Skyrim.
And this one worked surprisingly, cause I overdid it lol.
I noticed that 3 or 4 of them overlap with models but somehow the game runs and with no noticeable impact on my performance.

I just added random things together and it somehow works. A mix of mods that add new weapons, armor, changes models of soldiers and some characters, adds random skirmishes between factions and some other mods for immersion with the town folk, bigger trees, draugr changes, AI changes, tech tree changes and additions.

This mess works no problem.
Skyrim unofficial patch, impossible.

I am going to post the following, as it appears from what you have posted that you are extremely inexperienced at modding Skyrim - and I don't mean that to be salty. Whether new to modding or just coming back to it, you need to review how to mod properly (again, not being salty - a lot of people don't know how - even some who think they do). For that, see the For Those New to Modding the Game section in this from the PINNED TOPIC Helpful Links and References:
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2882241414

Also, for the best guides available, see this:
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2880880725
From Section 2 of Helpful Links and References

And review the entire PINNED TOPIC for links to other information and Resources, as well:
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2888888400

Know that modding requires reading, and a lot of it. But there are guides to help you through, as well as many very knowledgeable people to answer any questions you may have.
And, always remember the Golden Rule of Modding, and never forget it:
THE GOLDEN RULE OF MODDING:
"No matter how good a mod may look or sound, no matter how much you may really want a mod, if the mod does not work as it should, causes issues in your game, or even seems to have the potential to cause issues, dump the mod. A game that does not work is no game at all."
(from PINNED TOPIC Helpful Links and References, Introduction)

Finally, and most importantly, start small - just add a few mods at a time, test, and then play for a while to ensure there are no issues - don't fall into the trap of adding a bunch of mods and then trying to play. And, very important!!! For most mods, once they are added, they cannot be removed and play continued on that save - you have to roll back to a save made before that removed/disabled mod was installed, or start a new game - absolutely no ifs, ands, or buts about it. So make sure you make a manual save before adding anything, and save often (manually) while playing, so you can roll back to a previous save if necessary. (For why you cannot remove/disable mods midplaythrough, see: You CANNOT Remove Mods Mid-Playthrough - http://steamcommunity.com/app/489830/discussions/0/1520386297681801135/ )

If you have any other questions, or are unsure of something, just ask first - it is easier to prevent a problem than it is to fix one - especially where Skyrim is concerned.

Good luck!

I have to agree with smr1957. This is why i asked for the game version and why i asked for a load order. Next question depending on what those might reveal would be mod versions.

possible downgrade or using wrong mods for game version or both coupled with inexperience are often recipes for problems like this.

The version is 1.6.640.0.8

And here is the order: https://imgur.com/a/1wFoIor

But it is without the unoffical patch, I got rid of it. The order was correct before but it did not allow my game to open up, so i got rid of it. And after I removed it I added like 10 more mods and it still works fine. It was just that patch.

I see you are using several mods that have not been updated since 2016. This by itself does not mean mods that have not been updated in years are bad but I'd look there first.

More Weapons Please SE has CTD complaints.
and
Enchanting Freedom is reportedly not working properly with 1.6.xxx

The best way to build a load order is to add no more than 2-3 mods at a time, stopping and testing by loading up the game. So it's add 2 or 3 mods, stop, launch game and test, add 2 to 3 more, stop load up and test, and so on. This way when a CTD occurs you have it narrowed down to a very small group of mods.

Best way to proceed is to stop, start a new load order as described above.

Never heard of the USSEP causing crashes and it's one of if not the most used mods in Skyrim and it's used in very heavy load orders as well, I'm talking load orders of over 1,000 or more mods. You really should be using the USSEP.

The culprit is likely another mod of which the USSEP simply exposed for whatever reason.
