Alvor Died and Sigrid is Mad at Me
So not sure exactly what happened -- I was traveling through Riverwood, and there seemed to a wolf attack going on. I killed some (5?) of the wolves, but didn't stop in the city, just continued on. Returned a few days later, and it seemed like there was still combat going on, but no beasts in sight, and noticed Alvor's body laying by his forge.

Tried talking to Sigrid and she said "get lost" or something like "I hope the wilds take you one day," so obviously being blamed.

Was looking online and I guess he can die in a dragon attack too, but not sure why I'd be blamed unless it's for not stopping. Not going to change the run, or go to a previous save, just curious about how that AI is working...

Funny. I had a dragon attack at the end of my game the other day. In Riverwood. Alvor died in the attack apparently. I say apparently because I searched and could not find his body. But anyway as I was a leaving the town a courier ran up to me and passed me the note that said Alvor had died and left me an inheritance.

Did you reload to an earlier save? I’ve had about 2 or 3 bugs this play through and reload has fixed every one of them.

No, I just decided to go with it. Lots of other stuff happened between the two events that I don't want to lose.

She usually would only do that if you killed Alvor, even if by accident I'm pretty sure.

or was it an accident? and do you secretly admire Sigrid?

the plot thickens :steamhappy:

Hmm, I wonder if I hit him while swinging at wolves? I'm a newly married man, and was on my way to the new house, but must learn to be more careful with my mace it seems.

The exact thing happened to me with Alvor. I was shocked when Sigrid was always hateful towards the Dragonborn. Then the light bulb went on.

It seems like that group is easily killed - I see a lot of people recommending Run for Your Lives but I have Immersive Citizens and thought they might be redundant.

Fireball or shout perhaps?
Often it kills random npc:s around.
Immersive citizens do protect them, so it is more or less only you that can kill them.

Yea, it was just my mace but maybe I hit him without seeing him.

I'm using both on my oldrim load order.

I'm pretty sure I have something that works with IC just fine in SSE

My response to the ones who blame me is that they should have run faster.

"I'm only here to buy some extra glass and goat horns, 'cause Whiterun ran out. Deal with your own dragons, and lose the 'tude, 'cause I'm the mother-freakin' Dragonborn."

They're never impressed.

But yeah, like others have mentioned, mods are the best bet, although I prefer the realism of watching the ninnies stand there and shout "Dragon!" while one is breathing fire at their heads. Idjits.

I think I got a mod that makes the named NPCs respawn after about an in-game week if they are ever killed. I haven't tested to see if it actually works though. The one NPC that died I revived using the console (because ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ bugs).

Its called 'Respawn NPCs": https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/14688

Pity the mod probably doesn't let you pick and choose who you want to respawn, though. My luck, all the interesting ones would stay dead, and I'd be stuck with 84 clones of the most annoying. Worse would be if they started using the same lines.

Nice idea. I've retconned Meeko a few times when I've accidentally killed him and have a mod that keeps him from dying, but in this case I'll just put it down to a misfortunate accident and let it play out as the story. Maybe I can help out the village in some way in the future. You do especially need to be careful of who you hit within the city limits.

The one weird thing was that it seemed like a combat was already playing out in Riverwood when I returned like 4 days later, and yet no visible enemies nearby. The red dots were very faint, yet the whole city was in combat mode.
