Muffle spell + invisibility - still being detected
Title. Enemies are still detecting me regardless of the fact that i am completely invisible and according to the wiki 100% silent with the muffle spell. How is this possible.

Possibly a mod interfering with the trait? I have Sneaking at 60, and combine it with the Muffle Spell, and enemies can walk right up to me and seem to be looking right at me, and they don't detect me. What difficulty are you playing the game at?

are you swinging a weapon? Muffle has no effect on weapon sounds.

no mods and not swinging a weapon.

I don't believe the game actual gives you 100% sneak (even with muffle) for the NPC's you creep up on. But I can't find where I read that online. So maybe I'm full of crap? Or maybe it's from a youtube Skyrim tutorial.

Just remembered it was a reference from a Major Slack playthrough on youre tube. The only problem is he has several hundred Skyrim videos.

This is a really old thread, but if the information in it is still current, it seems you need to use sneak, invisibility and muffle to be 100% safe

Invisibilty spell does nothing.
Sneak plus muffle should give a high chance of not being detected though.

Even if you are invisible detection can happen ... I had it a couple of times an enemy goes invisible on my character and I still can see them if you look good you can see a distortion in the air.

I like to have Silence perk at 70 Sneak. I will also toggle Walk instead of normal movement speed if I have to move very near people and at low level sneak like when trying to sneak attack draugers early on in the game.

I know we all hate moving that slow but it really helps with detection.

Major Slack takes all his characters armor off just to help with sneaking more quietly.
