Completed The Thieves Guild Questline For the first Time
In all the years, and all the play throughs I have done, since the original Skyrim's launch in 2011, I had NEVER taken the Thieves Guild Quest line to its conclusion. I always went as far as the destruction of Mercer Frey and only did one or two jobs for Vex and Delvin before moving on I have to say, it was a tad underwhelming. However, I enjoyed the journey. That's the main thing.

Played it all the way through once and I liked it a lot.
I was a bit "so so" about the whole thing, I kind of disliked it simply because I didn't want to pledge to Nocturnal and disagreed with the reasoning behind it as well. They made it sound as if I, the Dragonborn, wouldn't be able to defeat one man without the help of Nocturnal which was obviously nonsense. Heck, when I first finished the quest I had already defeated Alduin.

It was fun, but I also didn't think it was all that special either.

Your character makes these kind of pledges with all daedric princes.
I wonder what the princes (and princess [nocturnal is the only one called that])
will do when they relize that the dovahkiin made pledges to all of them :steammocking:

I suspect they know going into it but in the end HM's claim wins.
Thieves Guild line locks out too many dungeons and ruins. I would say more than any other line. I mean whole dungeons, not just parts like some others do. Just another reason to hate them. Like pissing in the ocean.

What are you talking about?
No dungeons are locked because of the thives guild.
Place where the lockpick is over by Falkreath. Snow Veil Sanctum. Place where the Elf Prince Statue that empties out of Bronze Water Cave. I want to say a portion of Knife Point Ridge (over by Falkreath again, not the Knifepoint Hideout near Darkwater Crossing).

Those are just off the top of my head and I have mods that bypass the key required ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

But yeah. Locked out. Can't go in them if you are not doing the quest. Like Labrynithum is locked up if you aren't doing the Mage Quest or Ysgamors Tomb for the Companions.

Edit: Going of a very old memory here, so keep that in mind. It's been 8 years or more since I played UNMODDED Skyrim. If I have somehow impugned the reputation of the Thieves guild in any way shape or form I give my heartfelt apologies to all you misunderstood Robin Hoods, Keeping it real in the Sewars of Riften...I am so so so so Sorry......(i am not, ♥♥♥♥ Thieves, Bandits, Pirates, etc. ♥♥♥♥ THEM!. )

I believe the point of those dungeons being there is to give a plot to the thieves guild.
Twilight Sepulcher, Snow Veil Sanctum, and Irkngthand are related to the Thieves Guild quest line. The cave area within Knifepoint Ridge is locked out by the Daedric quest "Boethiah's Calling."
There is also the potential for a bug with Uttering Hills Cave. Multiple radiant quests can spawn there along with the Thieves Guild quest "Summerset Shadows."

I believe I have completed the Thieves Guild questline and become Master about four times.

See this is why we can't have nice things. You just said that the thieves guild didn't lock out any dungeons. Now your saying yes they do but....reasons.

This is where I get off this road. Thanks for the ride.

I thought you were saying that starting the quest line would lock the dungeons.
But turns out you were not saying that.

Are you just going to say that with every skyrim thread?
