Never had any issues with it, so it's more likely that some of your other mods is messing up with this one. Make sure you got a good load order set up and you don't have any conflicts.

So, I would take it that you dumped most of those mods in all at once without once testing? Because otherwise, since the start cell is the first thing you see, you would have caught that issue had you installed everything in the proper way. Start completely fresh on a new game. Go back to a clean vanilla install, validate the master files, run the game vanilla first to ensure that all works, and then install mods in small groups - testing for issues as you go. And, the first mods that should be installed are the Unofficial Patch, and Alternate Start.

Also, if you have not read them yet - and even if you have, it is time for you to review the basics.

And, very important!!! For most mods, once they are added, they cannot be removed and play continued on that save - you have to roll back to a save made before that removed/disabled mod was installed, or start a new game - absolutely no ifs, ands, or buts about it. So make sure you make a manual save before adding anything, and save often (manually) while playing.

And keep your build to a size that does not exceed your level of modding experience.

I mean, this is the first time it happened. But, I REALLY should take this to heart. For some reason it keeps going in one ear and out the other. I just wrote down a personal note to refer to, so as to not keep making this stupidly obvious mistake.

RyD, there are a few ways to learn, one is by reading all the stuff , another by making mistakes on your own and learning from them, and the third is a combination of the two. So, even though we say to read that, you are still learning even if you have not - it's just that reading all that will help to cut down on many of the errors and shorten the learning process. And at least you know enough to ask - and that is the important thing. But learning to mod Skyrim, even if you read all there is to read, is still something that takes time - and making mistakes is part of the process.

Oh yeah, I can't count how many clean installs I had to do while troubleshooting my build, although I'm STILL upset I haven't ironed out my script isdue upon first Whiterun load and have to use a workaround... 🙄


My advice is to make a backup of your clean install so you don't have to download it a billion times.

So true and boy have I done my share of Clean Vanilla re-installs. Actually I like doing them now, this way I know I am starting clean so there's no way I can blame one of my mistakes on left over files from my last build.
