AV response here was nil.
I'd switch antivirus software if I were you, that's not the first time I've read of Panda getting confused. Obviously it's not a very good antivirus program.
but yes, i say get avast instead.
I'll second that notion. Avast works well and has a few features that other anti-virus programs don't have, like a tracking blocker.
My Avast gave me a false positive for Rise of the Tomb Raider's exe. It can happen with any AV solftware. Just go to the Virus Chest and restore it and add the file to your exceptions list and you should be fine.
You'd be a complete fool not to. They may not be entirely effective but they definitely help.
Depends on how many porn sites you use.
it's time we let them go
You're 100% sure, that the legit sites you visited, have not been compromised from security exploits or loopholes? In this day and age, an AV like a condom, better have it than not at all.
Most crap is from ads, an adblock saves more people (edit: computers) than antiviruses. Besides I didn't say I don't have one, I do. But I haven't needed it for many years.
