Dragon skeletons disappearing and no safe storage.
i stored my stuff in Mirmulnir and his body is gone .
i think this has to do something with special edition since skeletons of dragons stayed in the vanilla .
This just makes it even worse as you got nowhere to store your items and ensure they dont disappear till you have 5k to buy a house.
Any suggestions on where i could store my items without them despawning?

EDIT: i learnt that i should have sold what i had rather then storing, till i get 5k for house.
i probably lost 1k-2k worth of items since they were enchanted stuff by the time i made the post .Would have gotten the gold from that for the house
but by the time i had made the post i was ready with the 5k and was going to get the items but welp...
now i have the house.

anywhere ....

you don't need a house. Why can't you just use a chest inside a cave ? Or use a barrel or a cupboard somewhere.

You don't stash stuff on a body. Nobody do that.

They vanish if you look around alot of players are losing items from storing them in the companions place or the room in college of Winterhold.
I'm using the cupboard in the basement of Aneises cottage. Works great to start.

Not in just any container either. Cells will reset and your items will disappear. The only safe storage is what you own.

OP, you can always look at a small player house mod on Nexus or Beth.net. Or, I believe there's a bag of holding mod.
Every Player home has a Chest that can be used by the player and this chest doesnt reset.
So would be a good idea to use it.
I believe that storage resets itself after 30 in-game days or something like that so if there's a dead dragon, it will disappear in about 30 in-game days. If you store something in a cupboard, it will reset to its original value after 30 days etc... This is done so on purpose so that you don't overburden the game's engine after playing for a while. Imagine what it would be like if every container were a safe conainer after 300 hours? @__@

Player homes are safe containers however, so use them to your benefit! :D

EDIT: I don't remember if dropping things on the ground in player homes gets removed after 30 in-game days but I believe it's safe.

Aside from player homes, if you are give a room/bed at a guild, you are given a chest or storage near it too. You can use that until you get a house.
Get the Dwemer Storage Cube Mod and goto Sightless Pit.
last time i checked all cells reset after 3 days so never use anything other then a player home to store anything you don't want to lose. well other then ash piles for some reason they never go away i have had one in front of my house in whiterun for months now ingame.

EDIT: Since most stuff has been discussed:

If you want a fully equiped and efficient house for free, go to Solstheim and do missions for the mayor. Assuming you have the dragonborn expansion or special edition.
----------------------------------------------------

Basically, 3 rules:

1. Bodies will vanish, they are not a good location to store things. Although it depends on location, somehow those corpses in my game in Windhelm seem to never go away. Had to throw them into the sewer so they don't bother me. xD

2. DO NOT store in caves and dungeons! They will be reset after a while. Same goes for mines, they will reset and the minerals can be mined again.

3. At lest stuff in your home is permanent.

No they didn't, whatever gave you that idea? Dragon skeletons will always disappear after a short period of time.

They vanish if you look around alot of players are losing items from storing them in the companions place or the room in college of Winterhold.

Not if you use the right containers. In Winterhold, use the cabinets that are in the small room you are assigned, not the barrels or the sacks. As for the Companions, that area will reset after a period of time. If you want safe storage, just get yourself a house. It doesn't take that long to come up with the gold to buy Breezehome in Whiterun.
The Home you build in Falkreath is even easier.
Dragon skeletons were NEVER safe storage. On first release they would stick around a while, but they would eventually be cleaned up. Even if not, they are still subject to Havoc physics and would sometimes fly off into inaccessible areas.

In any case, a patch to the game fixed their cleanup so that they will always be gone if you leave their cell and come back.

Every faction you join will have a safe storage area for you. Sometimes it's up to you to find it, but they are there. So look it up in the Wiki. The Wiki is your friend. Use the Wiki.
