Ways you can make Skyrim fun again without mods.
Specific things like mountains of gold and loot but nothing to buy.

Legendary difficulty is still too easy. Wish It was more like survival in fallout. (obviously mod would work but I want to bang a few more achievements out.

The Youtuber BADCompanySarge gave a suggestion that I am currently running.
Use ONLY the skills that the races get as bonuses.
Ie. The Altmer can only use magic. No armor, no buying and selling, no weapons, no alchemy, no sneak, no smithing.

I find using going pure mage (only clothing, spells) makes the game very interesting. Sneak kills with bound bow, trying to defend against dragon with ebony skin and ward spells... very challenging.

Pure/mostly mage is definitely fun because you have to strategize more than "Sneak, shoot with bow, win" or even "Run into melee and smash face". Destruction heavy builds tend to be fairly boring to me (too much "stay at range and smash face", but with spells that don't scale at all so they SUCK damage wise later on), but sticking with Illusion and Alteration for controlling situations can really work. Use a follower and/or summons to make up for your lack of damage.

As a sneak mage you can really go pretty much pacifist if you want to too, if you want to play a thief that doesn't kill people. Get good at sneaking/abuse Muffle & Invis, and if you get noticed you just Calm everyone and run off and hide again. It's fun to sneak through a bandit cave, calm the leader at the end, grab the loot, and sneak back out without any bloodshed at all.

If you want to have fun, I would suggest avoiding two things: sneak archery (completely trivializes the already easy combat) and abusing crafting (resto looping). You can skip crafting entirely if you want too.

You make a good point. If I am at level 56, what weapons/armor would you reccommend I pack. and whats my backup plan if stuff hits the fan? keep some heavy armor and a mace in my back pocket?

Well at 50+ you should be rocking Ebony, Daedric, or Dragonbone if you're Heavy Armor. Glass if you're using Light Armor. If you like using 1h + HA, I'd probably just roll with a cleric/paladin type build and shield bash stuff and heal myself all the time. Make sure you have a ranged option, either Archery or Destruction, and use Alteration to buff yourself (especially the perks).

I promise you you'll see the world in a whole new terrifying way. Then you learn to survive.

If by permadeath you mean starting over with a new character death that would completely ruin any elements having to do with the story.

Nah, it means that you don't reload on dying to Bandits or something. Of course you can die in the story, it requires you going to Sovngarde.

Did they rebalance magic in this edition? I remember i needed a mod for magic to be relevant in early versions, since Bethesda as always failed with it. Or i still need magic mods? And can anyone recommed blacksmith mod? And something like making daedra items good and removing retarded auto-leveled loot?
