Purple Particles Around My Character???
Greetings guys,

Got this strange bug it appears, I contracted a disease off one of those Lurkers that appear in the wild in Solstheim. I have removed the disease from my actives, prayed at an Alter, rested for over 24hrs and drank a cure disease potion. None of these worked to remove the particle effects swirling around my camera, despite it no longer showing up in my active effects. I have tried reloading, fast travelling back to Skyrim and back to Solstheim, as well as reloading and closing the game down and launching again. None of these worked.

Is there a console command I can use or another work around anyone is aware off? It is not game breaking, it is just a little annoying have purple flecks flickering around.

Cheers!

PS. just realized I have beast blood which gives me 100% disease resistance....adds to the confusion for me.

Bright purple is normally a sign of a missing texture. Did you remove a mod that added a disease or some kind of effect to the game?

Also, diseases can sometimes bypass disease immunity (diseases from traps, for instance, famously ignore disease resistance).

Also, I've never heard of Lurkers carrying diseases. Did you have a mod that affects them in anyway, or am I mistaken?

A screenshot would help. However, if it is a magical effect, see this:

EDIT - Also, what Blackwolf said regarding missing textures.

This is the thing, I am playing purely vanilla. And the disease that showed up in my active effects was stamina regen down by 50%, As I was making my way to a shrine, some of the NPC's even mentioned I do not look well which indicated even more that I contracted a disease.

Check that tutorial I posted. If by some chance it is missing textures, try validating the master files:

More than likely though, the tutorial should help you fix it, as it is probably just a bugged lingering effect.

You really should install the Unofficial Patch, however, as it fixes literally thousands of bugs in the game:

The unofficial patch smr is talking about is called also USSEP, you might encounter it often as USSEP for short.

I think you little lying here. It must be a mod effect. I dont think you are playing vanilla Skyrim, lets be clear about that.

I am playing Vanilla Skyrim, I only recently picked this game back up since it pretty much came out so I wanted a fresh unmodded gameplay out of it. So just take my word on it. I am asking for help and advice, I see no point in lying about how I am playing as I am aware of mods and what they can do to games other than add content...

It would be better if you posted the screenshot to Steam, and not an outside site.

the screenshot if from steam I just used Gyazo to crop it essentially.

That screenshot looks familiar, but I don't know where else I have seen it. As for that purple, it doesn't look like a missing texture. Normally its a bright, kinda pink purple, not a dark purple. Actually, it looks like the kind of purple you see in the soul cairn.

Do you know how to use the console? Press the ~ on your keyboard. This will cause a translucent black screen to appear. Pressing it again will make it go away. While that box is open, type in this and press enter:

player.dispellallspells

Tell us if that does anything. This should remove all effects on your character, even if they're hidden.
