How to get the old 1.5.39 .exe (for SKSE64)

press win+R, paste: steam://nav/console

in steam console, paste: download_depot 489830 489833 1298692161422189837

the v1.5.39 exe will download to [...]steamapps/content/app_489830/depot_489833

put it back into the Skyrim SE folder and set to read only.

That will do until SKSE64 is updated

They are not. You resurrected an old thread when 1.5.50 was the new version breaking SKSE and 1.5.39 was the one working. So you got the 1.5.39 exe when you needed the 1.5.50 (to go with SKSE 2.0.8) since the last update made the game exe go to version 1.5.53.

I did as instructed and my SKSE still tells me I can't open it until I update Skyrim to the latest version. All I want to do is play my Skyrim .... why does Bethesda keep screwing everyone over?

Edit: Ah, the OP is outdated. Just use this instead and everything will work out.

SKSE usually takes about 2-4 days to update, for those that don't want to wait you can revert back to the previous update by

pusing Win+R and type in
"steam://nav/console" (without quotes).

In the steam nav console type

Once it's done open your file browser and open your steam apps folder and thenopen the content folder, then just take that Skyrim file and replace the one currently in your Skyrim folder and SKSE should work again until they release the update :)

Actually just until Bethesda realizes that no one wants them to update this game anymore. Focus on 76, it needs it more.
