Mysterious shaking
Some kind of shaking effect, like an earthquake or a dragon flying overhead keeps occuring in one specific location. Its the pass between the road from whiterun leading to markarth. The one right after the dead khajit wagon.

This has occured for me on the console version too, on multiple saves. And there are no dragons in this game yet, so that's not it. What is happening in this place?

Okay, possible stupid question but are you walking into a bear trap that isn't doing any damage or putting the injured effect on screen?
I only ask because the road is riddled with traps and those cause the screen to shake. It's usually obvious when you stepped in though because like I said, damage and blood.

I have no idea what else it could be if this isn't it. I've never experienced that myself.

Edit:
There are earthquakes near Arkngthamz, but that is not anywhere near the location I think you are describing.

Are you closer to Markarth than Whiterun? I recall deep ground shaking occurring around Arkngthamz, where the Aetherium Wars book sends you, but I don't know how close you have to be, to feel it.

To answer both questions, I'm already past the bear traps. Its a downwards slope leading to the river, that passes by a side path leading up to the plateau where rorikstead is located.

And I think I am closer to Markarth, but again, not quite reached the river yet, but it is in view. Its not near Arkngthamz yet. Also, while the shaking is similar, there is no accompanying sound effect.

Is your location right opposite of Gloomreach? If not, give me the closest landmark and I'll check it out. I'm hunting words of power and in the middle of a dungeon or I'd have went there and looked for the slope you described

I used the map on this site to find the path: https://srmap.uesp.net/?centeron=Gloomreach

From gloomreach look directly east across the river. There should be an iron ore vein, then a silver, then a corundum. The shaking occurs between the silver and corundum ore vein on the stone path.

Well, I just went there on a heavy modded Skyrim, about 250 mods. I was running, I was walking, I was jumping I was killing and no shake at all. I went up and down about 10 times, from right next to the fort to the river.

Dragons don't have to spawn, it's possible it's a leftover effect and only triggers on a game before dragons, and then it spawns a dragon instead if you got to that part, however I didn't see a dragon there but I have passed there a couple dozen times. For reference I tried this between 8am and 9am in game, in case time of day makes a difference.

It's also possible it's a vanilla leftover that gets fixed with the unofficial patch, or some other mod that I have cause I don't even remember anymore. I do however remember shakes on Oldrim, also modded but those were in the swamp location under Windhelm, seems completely unrelated to me.

I hope this is not an issue for you and you are just curious cause the only way to get rid of it would apparently be to mod the game, at least that I know of.

Its not an issue at all, just a curiosity. It still happens if I pass this area, though usually not repeatedly (if I pass this point, turn around and walk back through it won't happen again), but if I reload the cell it may happen again.

It was definitely present in Oldrim, and again in this game, so I was wondering if it was an indicator that something was in the area, or just a bug. Also I use USLEEP and it doesn't seem to do anything about this.

I've also had random "Nirnquakes" happen in various places. I know the area you're talking about, and I actually have a Thalmor Hunter placed at the base of that path that leads up the hill overlooking Rorikstead.

Silly game caught on quick when I started placing them, and moved Thalmor patrols around to avoid them. So, I added more Hunters wherever it moved them to. Now it drops Imperial patrols more often, and drops Thalmor patrols out in the middle of the plain between Whiterun and Rorikstead, where they get mauled by Wolves, Sabercats, Giants, random Wizards, Undead, and Assassins sent to kill me LOL

At any rate, there's a slim chance you're feeling the rumble from the rockfall traps at the Forsworn ruin up the hill before Gloomreach. It's a stretch because it's so far away, though.

lol, imagine a bunch of soldiers just patrolling through that pass, all of a sudden shaking from above. All with comedy english accents.

Soldier1: Rockslide!
Soldier2:*looks up* Phil, lay off the booze while we're on the job.
Soldier1: But I swear I just felt shaking!
Soldier2: None of us have gotten laid in over a month out here in the middle of nowhere. Deal with it.
