What is your mod manager or Loot saying?
I meant mod, i was tired haha.
Also i looked through SSEEdit and couldnt find any conflicts, i scanned it and it didnt show green or red flags for the npcs affected.
1) Hair edits. These can be hair edits to any NPC, but most often this occurs on mods that add hair to NPCs from another mods, such as GMO (Guild Members Overhaul). I had to open both mods in CK (with GMO being the active mod) and find the 'actor' faces affected by the black face bug, and CTRL+F4 to export them. (Then hit save) This did fix the issue with those NPCs for me.
2) Slightly corrupt game files. Not sure if its technically corruption, but apparently opening Skyrim in CK and exporting ALL the character facegens has worked for some people.
3) Mod conflicts. If not just the characters face texture (being grey/black in this case) but their shape is not what it should be (child with an adult head), you can be certain a mod conflict is causing it.
yes so it turns out in my sleep deprived state that i wasted two hours trying to export facegen data when there was a patch for one of my mods i needed. Im assuming that will fix it.
Im currently switching from NMM to MO2 so i cant check right now but i will let you know, though i really think it will fix it.
