Alternatives to TK dodge?
I think I know the answer to this, but hoping maybe someone found something I haven't... so TK dodge works great. Except for one exception, and that exception makes it useless when I most need it: any combat scripts running make it lag just enough to be useless, I get staggered before the game registers me dodging. And my script lag isn't bad, usually hovers around 40ms even in the middle of things. I tracked down Ultimate Dodge Mod, which works great, despite the FNIS warnings. BUT you can't sneak with it, because he uses the sneak binding by definition to dodge, so that's out.
And I saw dodge mod SE on nexus, but between the author's own comments and those of users that seems broken and abandoned.

Just looking for something that gets me out of the way, nothing fancy.

Shouldn't you be able to re-bind the dodge key for that mod you found in some sort of ini?
I think TKDodge is probably by far the best and most polished version. I doubt there's anything nearly as good. Try moving it up in the load order or replacing your combat mods with ones that use lighter scripts. There's tons of those, not too many dodge mods. What combat mods are you using in particular?

The way he does it in UDM is odd, he literally ties it to whatever you choose as your stealth button in the control set up. Which is a shame because it's super smooth, uses no scripts, super responsive. Apparently he had to take it off Nexus Mods because he used some of FNIS's code to make it work with FNIS or some such. Tbh it makes more RP sense for my orc berserker not to be doing a lot of sneaking anyway, but oh well :P

I think you're right. I'm using Wildcat and Ultimate combat, but most of the options in UC are turned off at this point (well skyrim revamped but that mostly changes abilities and combat styles, not a lot of script) I've scrapped Vigor, was just using it for the injury system which just became tedious. the problem is I've gotten addicted to Sands of Time. The other alternative is probably just turning off full body stagger in Wildcat and kind of cheese my way out of the problem. I'll try playing with the load order first, hadn't thought of that.

Wait, what? You're saying that the "crouch down" button for sneaking is bound to the dodge button of the mod? That isn't the case with me, but I may have rebound my controls a while back.

Are you using Ultimade Dodge Mod though? I liked it enough I dug around because I could only find it outside of the usual sites, and apparently there was supposed to be a version where it wasn't bound to the stealth/crouch setting and compatible with the latest SSE update, but I couldn't find it.

I'm using this mod: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/15309

Its TK's dodge mod, but not Ultimate dodge. I didn't know there was a distinction.

Yeah, that's TK dodge, the one I'm currently using. It's a great mod, but my set up is running just enough scripts to make it lag and not respond at the right time though

I haven't found a way around that either. Its an engine issue more than anything else. I just use dodge differently, generally I use it more when closing in on an enemy rather than when in melee range.

I have mine bound to LB on my controller, which is mapped to sprint if held down.

Well, I'd recommend uninstalling UC. I've used it with and seperate from Wildcat, and to be honesty Wildcat and some specific smaller mods did all I needed. UC felt like it's rather instable to me, while Wildcat did a good job on it's own. I feel like especially for combat, less mods are better. Try to find or set up something that fits your needs.

For my last playtrough I used TKDodge, TKHitstop, Wildcat, The Wizard Warrior, an equivalent for Attack Commitment that only affects NPCs (Mortal Enemies I think), Lock-on and a custom camera mod.

Mostly what I use it for at this point, and rushing archers. I have it mapped to pushing my mouse wheel. I can't play DS on keyboard, and can't play skyrim on controller ... muscle memory lol

Sorry for necro, I'm just wondering if there's anything at this point? TK dodge just is WAY too laggy, it's almost a full second, and parts of the game require sneaking, so clearly v4 won't work either. Is there anything that does dodges, but it's responsive? Also preferably something that has 360 dodging rather than only 4 directions.

(I still don't understand why this isn't a better done mod concept, everyone is obsessed with making Dark Souls combat in Skyrim, and this is a crucial aspect)

Not an expert, but it looks to me that the problem lies within the game itself, not necessarily the mod. Lets face it, this game doesn't exactly have the most responsive, or complex, combat by default. It could very well be an engine limitation.

Guys. There is a mod which does exactly what you want and you already mentioned it:
Ultimate Dodge mod. I don't know where the "you can't sneak with it" comments come from as that is wrong.
The mod changes the dodge key to your default sneak key. But in the MCM menu of UDM you can rebind sneaking to a new key. So for me, for example, I want dodge on left Alt and sneak usually on C. So I go to controls, change sneak to left Alt, go to UDM MCM menu and change the new sneak key to C. -> Sneak is on C, and Dodge is on left Alt. It works perfectly fine and the set up takes ~ 30 seconds.

Also you can dodge in all diagonal directions, in contrast to TK dodge, so that is also viable like you asked. The only downside to UDM is the incompatibility to to FNIS mods, but that's it.

Download for UDM: https://www.reddit.com/r/skyrimmods/comments/eyn1st/where_to_download_ultimate_dodge_mod_sse/

Meaning, itll have commitment, reach, movement, etc, limitations built-in and a separate “dodge” mod is not needed.
I don't know any combat mod that incorporates all of that. Do you have suggestions?

Blade and blunt, yash2, fatality, mortal enemies, vigor, as well as, “movement” mods that directly impact such issues.

for starters

Another aspect to look for is whether the mods limit humanoids, animals or both.

skyrim revamped, perhaps wildcat, most combat mods address movement limitations

at least, good ones do
I actually use Wildcat and Mortal Enemies and using any dodge mod alongside feels like it was always meant to be that way.

Dude stop posting this crappy download link, BECAUSE IT'S NOT WORKING. The link is private and the owner doesn't accept your download. I've tried to download it several times in 2 months and it just doesn't work.

Now for the bro who want's an alternative to an dodge mod. I suggest you use the CGO (Combat Gameplay Overhaul SE). It has a really nice / good dodge roll, but my problem is that this mod adds more things to the game and I can't use the attacks from SkySA + Elder Souls preset while CGO is installed.
TK Dodge mod it's really crappy, u can't dodge where u want to.
There isn't any alternative, or at least what to be found. DMCO is the best but u have to pay for it. TUDM as I said u can't download it anymore, because the owner or idk who tf has it on GDrive put it on private.
