The console is a developers tool, not a gameplay aid. In certain circumstances it may be necessary to use it to fix a bug, but it should only be used as a last resort, and a hard save should always be made prior to using.
"If you don't know what you're doing, using console commands can cause your game to malfunction! Executing the wrong command can cause your game to stop working normally; furthermore, you may not become aware of such malfunctions right away, and you may not be able to trace their cause. They can cause problems like making quests impossible to complete, altering your game's display, all kinds of game behaviors, your ability to play your character, and your ability to play the game at all. Solutions are not always easy, and may involve losing saved games or reinstalling your game.
Create a permanent saved game before using the console. (This mitigates only some kinds of risks.) If you need to use the console to fix a glitch, try to use the least powerful command possible." cited by cfs111

Plus, you do not need to do 125 Thieves Guild quests anyways. You need to do FIVE quests for EITHER Vex or Delvin in EACH major hold capital. Solitude, Markarth, Whiterun, and Windhelm. You may get quests for Riften, but they will not count towards the goal. When you have completed FIVE quests in a particular city, Delvin will offer a 'Special Request'. Once you have completed a Special Request for a city, further quests for that city do not count.
When you have completed FOUR Special Requests, one for each of the cities mentioned above, you have met your goal and can be made Guildmaster.
If you reach 125 quests before fulfilling the above requirement, your goal will automatically be completed. (Extremely unlikely to ever have to go that far).
You may also turn down a quest and get another one an infinite number of times without penalty in order to get one you want. I do not recommend turning down any of Vex's quests, it could cause bugs, but Delvin's are perfectly fine to refuse.
From what I remember, the reward for doing all those quests is bitterly disappointing, except for the fact that you accrue an extra 50000 gold on the way.

Then it auto started "Under New Management" which I just walked around and completed since I was already in the Ragged Flagon. Way better than actually doing the quest. Who has time for that.
i thot it was random quest after 5th job, OMG
and yes I know this is a necro
Mods -> You've achieved enlightment
five quests in each city is for the special jobs.
Pesonally I always kill the 125 jobs with a mod - it's just ridiculous. I've also started using Barenziah Warp, though I think it's a bit cheaty. So I just avoid starting the "warping" until I'm fairly advanced in the game. The perk is a bit too unbalanced, without it you barely find any valuables in those urns, most of them are empty even, while with the perk you get 3-5 gems on each, 0 to 2 jewelry, 0-3 pots. It's just broken
Works great contrary to all the other posts about console commands jacking your game up. Just talk to Delvin when you are all done.
