Genestealer Cult isnt, and wasnt ever, Tyranids, only Genestealers themself is Tyranid stuff.
but they really shoud include them already in Gladius, they where my main Standard Units in TT for Tyranids.
They are pretty much a subfaction of the tyrannids. And no Chaos Gate the new one.
No, they are not a subfaction at all. By the time a Tyranid Hive Fleet attacks a world they have consumed, or are consuming, the Genestealer Cults. The cults give themselves willingly to the hive fleet as biomass. Even if you argued that, in Gladius, the cults are still fighting alongside the Tyranids, it would make no sense for Tyranids to produce Genestealer Cult units! It would be, frankly, ridiculous to see a Tyranid city, in game, produce cultists (e.g., cult guardsmen) as well as vehicles. Tyranid bioforms don't manufacture non-organic weapons or machines. Full stop.
On that reason alone Genestealer Cults cannot be a subfaction in-game.
I dont think you know what a subfaction is. They fight for the same side, share units, they are literally just tyrannids mixed with humans.
I don't think you're following my reasoning. Lorewise, GC absolutely do not share the same units. I've never heard or seen them using a Haruspex, Carnifex, Lictor, Hive Tyrant, etc etc. ever. They just don't. As for Tyranids, they absolutely don't use cultists, GC vehicles. The only thing they share are Genestealers.
So that blows the sharing argument out of the water.
Again, I am 100% in the right about Tyranid cities in the game never producing GC units. they won't, because it's ridiculous.
Genestealer Cults are not a subfaction of Tyranids. Again, lore-wise they are utterly consumed by the hive fleets when they arrive, so they are not even utilised in the invasion (apart from Genestealers).
Exactly.
Sisters of Battle are a subfaction of the Adeptus Mechanicus according to Arcanite.
by your logic Sisters are a Subfaction of IG, AdMech are a Subfaction of IG and SM aso....
Harlquins you coud call a subfaction, because they where singled out of Craftworld and DEldar for cashgrabbing, before that they where complement for both (but with much smaller roosters, what means alot looking at the mini Rooster there own "Army" Book now has.... )
if we go back in Time you can call Inquisitors, Greyknights Termis, the Assassians and our police friends in the black plate armor subfactions, because in SE they where all labeled "Impirial Agents" , what means they where on a short list of Units you coud Hire for your support point pool if you got a Impirial sided army. none of them got there own army book at that time.
(Thats why i have an Inquisitor, a Gey Knight Termi Unit, and each of the Assas, together with one unit of Arbitis still in a Box from my Dark Angels)
Genestealers infect victims,
victims get brain meddled,
victims multiply and form a cult,
victims unknowingly for themself form a hyperspace beacon that calls Tyranids in.
Tyranids arive, cult sometimes fight alongside them.
Tyranids conquer the world,
cult gets nomnomed,
heck even the genestealers normaly get back into the resource pool as long it isnt the mutating strain that the Swarmfleets avoid like the plague for reassymilation.
the whole thing woud be a mess to explain a cooperation, because the whole colaboration part woud depend on the symbiont magus (yes, singular, one person) , the cult worship only the pure genestealers and sees the magus as its only boss. the tyranids are total alien to the cultiests. even the genestealers are sometimes not to fond of the arival of a big hivemind boss wanting to eat them.
they are the only thing in a Tyranid Army not dependant on the Synaps Mechanic, even when a Symbiarch as there Sergant in newer Editions comes with Synaps Creature rules (what is only very situational helpful, looking at genestealers unusal high moral for a Tyranid Unit) .

No, because they dont share a theme or units.
Thou you could call both of em subfactions of the Imperial Guard or astra militarum.
And you just said the tyrannids share units with geanstealer cults.
Not to mention they fight for the same faction, have the same goals, and when a planet is invaded fight on the same side. The cult only gets eaten after the planet has been conquered, not before.
Same goes for geanstealers. You are the only person I ever met who tried to argue the tyrannids and geanstealers arent part of the same faction.
