I think you're getting carried away. Warp Talons do all of these things in the lore, so it's not a mistake.
"When a pack of Warp Talons emerges from the warp, it appears to those on the battlefield below as if daemonic warriors have burst out from nothingness into fiery, vengeful life. Like the stuff of nightmares, they plummet downwards in an explosion of warp fire, tearing into the foe with murderous intent."
What this is describing is a squad of Warp Talons jumping into an enemy formation, literally emerging *from the warp* appearing as if having *burst out from nothingness*. This is clearly describing a teleportation strike, not a jump-pack strike.
The in-game ability being their jump-pack which shows them hovering across the battlefield before dropping down rather mundanely into whatever open space they can fit.
This is the gameplay vs description incongruity. I was just suggesting, in a manner intended to be friendly, that either the description of the talons be altered or the graphics of their "jump" attack being changed to be more accurate to the description. A.k.a. a teleport with the range of the normal jump attack with the same blinding effect. As with other teleport abilities they would still be subject to overwatch attacks. It would just LOOK cooler :D
And no longer bother that autistic itch in my brain when the textual description of something is out of synch with its actual appearance.
"Warpflame Strike
Free action
Consumes movement
Cooldown: 0/3 turns
Range: 1 tiles
Flies across obstacles to the target tile and blinds adjacent enemy infantry and monstrous creatures.
+1 movement
+1 movement max
Blind (1 turn)
-50% accuracy
Though the lesion they slice in the fabric of realspace seals over as soon as the hunting pack has passed through, the mind-shattering nature of their attack is usually enough to stun their prey into inactivity. This moment of awestruck hesitation is often fatal, for the hellishly sharp claws of the Warp Talons part heads from necks and limbs from torsos as the hunters hurtle into the ranks of the foe."
There it is, undeniable evidence of the incongruity between the descriptive function and the actual function of the warp talon's jump jet ability.
Thanks for listening to my ted talk :))
But... I think their jump jets use warp energy, because they're half daemon. I don't think their ability to teleport in tabletop really has an effect like blinding, either.
