8 units sound a bit low for an entire race, especially as none are a hero units (guessing from googling the units and looking at the mini's)
First born space marines already have a metric ton of units and vehicles to fit any battlefield condition, not to mention 2 defensive buildings that eradicate entire units with one or two hits
I think this is a whole new faction
I have mixed feelings. Any content is good but...
As long as 'normal' Space marines aren't shafted, and there's justification to play them? Whatever.
But I -sure- hope this isn't the last DLC we get
Edit: Also the state of units. Is this a standalone faction? Will it use normal SM units? Are the ones they listed just a 'sample' and more will be in the DLC on launch?
This is very confusing.
I'd be less worried if I could be sure that it doesn't endanger more interesting content. It is a break in the usual pattern of dlc releases ... although I guess it does not necessarily mean that they are officially done with major factions - it does not even mean that it is impossible that a major faction will follow in this year (just sounds unlikely). It is a little bit of a troubling sign at this point.
As a final dlc ... this would be like setting the God Emperor's favourite pyjamas on fire. A horrible blasphemy!
They have a lot of units already, adding semi-duplicates doesn't seem like something a sane individual would do
Some of their units are god-tier, I don't need them being able to pump out 3 Devastator Centurions or 3 Assault Terminators per turn, more powerful factions have limitations on city building placed on them for a reason
