I believe Doc is working on a Warhound and I'm working on Chaos Knights and War Dogs.

Also please remember that even if we had models they are difficult to implement. For example a Knight goes up to the knee joint of a Warlord titan. Each Warlord foot is as big as a game hex. So you'd either be playing with tini titans or an army of ants.
it doesnt have to be to scale, the rhino chaisis vehicles are smaller then space marines, in reality its the oppsite
That's because of the scale for the game, everything has to fit on the map, it's pretty much the points system used to keep tabletop games balanced "want to field a Titan then you better have an army that's capable of supporting such a point investment"

Mini Deer speaks true! The models aren't unimportant, but I don't imagine most Gladius fans love Gladius because of the unit artwork -- nice as it often is.

I bet loads of us would be happy with just recycling a Knight model and calling it a titan.

That is super easy. All you do take a Knight and give it a trait which grants +300% damage, stats and cost. Instant Warlord Titan.

Rename it "Warlord Titan", and maybe make a unique icon. It's like 30 min of work.

But then you have to assume everyone has bought the Adeptus/Sorettes DLC packs just to get those units, something I honestly doubt everyone in this discussion alone has done.

That would give them even more of a reason to buy those DLCs.

Or have the vicversa effect since the amount of DLC for this game can be a deal breaker for some people.

Just for the sake of extending a conversation that is obviously over...

Just to confirm, Cursed Hawkins, you're suggesting that by publishing a mod to the Steam workshop, an independent civilian modder will reduce overall interest in Gladius because it will discourage new players?

Funny. I drew the precisely opposite conclusion: that such a mod would inspire new players to join in the thriving community fun.

Picture this scenario Maestro, the average person who's living paycheck by paycheck just to get by, what do you think they're going to do with their spare cash, spend that on their basic needs or spend roughly (USD) 150 or more if another country makes the DLC more expensive of that spare cash into DLC just for the sake of making mods work since each faction DLC for Gladius costs (USD) 15 dollars each.
Edit: heck just to paint another example, look at the amount of DLC for PayDay 2 compare their prices from the USD currency to the currency of other countries, the same problem can happen there and in some cases even worse.

Payday was never a problem with some of the less 'financially gifted' I played with.

Payday you could share the heists with all clients. And there was a -ton- of free content added for people who couldn't buy DLC weapons.

Payday is a terrible example of what you're trying to prove.

There is a recent thread on Reddit where people recommend licensed key resell sites such as
IsThereAnyDeal, InstantGaming and CDkeys. I can't comment because I've never used these.

Unfortunately I can't mod money into people's wallets.

I'm more of pointing out that not everyone will see the same level of value for a purchase if they see 100+ dollars in DLC they might have to buy even for the sake of modding the product, the hesitation will always be there for all communities between both examples and PayDay's the only example I can on good merit mention because bringing up games like Evolve with that game at the time of it's time on the market 400+ if not 800+ dollars of DLC including day one launch DLC makes me disgusted even if I can likely understand why such monetization being so aggressive.
Maestro Rugosa 2 mai. 2024 às 6:45
My point is that (1) Gladius base game is basically free these days; (2) all but the lastest DLC goes on deep discount all the time; and (3) nobody considering a purchase looks at newly published mods beforehand. I do appreciate your legitimate feelings that it's possible a rigorous modding community might intimidate a new player. But I (and others above) believe you are overthinking it.

The Warhound is here! Try it out and tell me what you think. And a Gargant is next (ish) on my list....I need to do a medic and a Custodes at some point too, of course :)

But I do loves me some Orks.

And while I'm a little slow in this stuff, Dex and Devian have put out enough great work to equal at least three DLCs apiece. So inspiring!

Call the modding community is dead because no titan is such an insult to the community.
