Necron Strategy Help Required
Hey guys.

Wanted to ask if anyone could shed some light on some effective Necron strategies, mostly against the AI.

I really like going for vehicle builds but lately I'm asking myself if I should throw some infantry/heroes into the mix. Should I? And if yes, which units would be good?

The second question pertains to building additional cities. How many should I go for?

And the last question is, which units should I be focusing on building late game? Doom Scythes? Obelisks?

If anyone could shed some light I'd be very appreciative.

I use this build

1) science

2) summoning core

3) hero or 2nd core (depending if you want to add lord, my reccomandation is yes)

4) energy

---> rapid rise your spyder to found 2nd city asap. make sure you have enough energy to make it right away, slow down early unit production if you need to.

There's two heroes that are VERY worth cranking out. The lord (I only make him later in the game, because I prefer to keep him in a safe place. I use him for his faction buff skill.)...and the Destroyer Lord. The Destroyer Lord is a monster for melee damage, almost as sick as the Chaos Lord and Warboss, but WAY faster and tougher. And he applies up to a 30% increase damage effect against any enemy next to him, including buildings.

Any attack you make will work better with a Destroyer Lord involved, and with his speed and melee power, he can eliminate the most dangerous enemy forces before they can do much to you. Once you can gear him up with the Dusk Blade, Mourning Blade, and Axe, it'll take focused fire from most of an army to bring him down because he'll just heal up every time he attacks something.

I always start with research building first. Tech is important.

Second building is either a summoning core or hypostyle temple. Depending on whether I want to go infantry or vehicles only.

I´ve beaten Ultra hard with both builds. The key here, as some other posters have mentioned, is to never stop producing your units be it a warrior squad or an annihilation barge.

Manage your ore, don´t get your units killed, play defensively until you have enough spare resources and squads to go all Leroy Jenkins on AI.

Today I beat the Impossible AM with the quest. I think without the quest the game must be easier.
4 city. Rush tech to fast obelisk and basically just build a wall of Obelisk to finish the quest
