In regards to the Tau's Sun Shark bomber
Does the main attack of this thing perform the same function as markerlight, removing the ranged damage reduction of the target?

You mean, if it removes the markerlight debuff from the target? It should.

Yes and no. Sun Shark's attacks only self modify and do not actually apply markerlight. It's essentially a permanent accuracy modifier and RDR negation.

Sweet, so then the target will be vulnerable to further attacks that bypass any ranged damage reduction it may have had?

I see, so does the RDR negation only apply to the Sun Sharks's attacks?
It has the trait Networked Markerlight which prevents it from benefiting from and/or consuming Target Acquired (the debuff applied by Markerlight).

Yes. It doesn't actually apply Markerlight, but has the benefits as if the target -was- Markerlight-ed.
