No map export string.
I think most players prefer units more than game(play) improvements.
Luckily I rolled some great map seeds and have written down the relevant settings so I am quite settled. But it was quite a time investment :( .
if i had to answer, id say: because it does not need one.
i DO NOT understand, how "wh x,y,z" having map editor has anything to do, with gladius not having one.
...
at "new game"'s advanced options, there is a thing called "world seed"
A decent map editor would do wonder, but it's too time-consuming to add it now on Gladius.
I would point out though that you can use the debug more to terraform a map. Not super quick, it only works for that one game. But eh.
Strategy games like this massively profit form map editors, more than any other type of game. I saw the devs said they considered it if the demand was there. Given that the game is several years old with a long history of map editor request, my bet is it will never happen. This is disappointing. Clearly the game is still profitable if they keep churning out DLCs and throw out patches every other day. If they did a little bit of mission editor work on the side everyday, I'm sure it'd have been done ages ago.
You never tried a world seed with different other settings? If not, try and let's see if you still think your seed is awesome glorious epic etc.
An export string is more than a seed. It contains all other settings too. Load it, get all settings to get your awesome glorious epic etc. game back. Or load it and then change only forest density and start the new map. (Edit: or something with more impact: landmass :) )
Much easier than a map editor and yet very helpfull to get have at least some way to save a good map without being forced to write all settings down. One could call it very consumer unfriendly.
They'd need to review entirely how maps are created when starting a game, because they'd need a way to handle random maps AND pre-generated maps. Spawns especially due to faction specificity (necrons, Eldars) could be difficult.
That's not really how it works.

Not a truly map editor, but very close, i think
