Space Marine Seed
Does anyone have a good seed for space marines? It seems as if every single game I start I am surrounded by water or placed into a starting zone with no build slots or only 10% bonuses and 2 build slots.

I am trying to do a full huge map with max enemies and can't seem to figure out good settings that will allow me to deploy a base within the first 6 turns. It seems like I lose way too much time scouting for a base location and fall behind every game I play.

Raise that land mass to max when playing space marines. It helped me find a better start.

What's wrong with that? By planting your bastions next to resource hexes, you get way more than 10% bonuses, and you can research city expansion tech way before you'll use up all of the two-slot city tiles

What's wrong with that start in your screenshot? Look, 10% bonus for requisitions is actually a very good tile bonus. Remember requisitions are 2X the normal resource, since they are food+ore from other races, combined. So when let's say normally a tile would give +20% ore, it gives +10% requisitions to space marines. This is actually a very good tile. Space Marines only need to build 1 building to get the equivalent of food and ore, not 2 (and their respective population and upkeep and space requirements).

I never find that i have an issue with the starting position of Space Marines, due to their extreme versatility. You don't have the issue of "ore start vs food start" other factions have. And you will rarely, if ever, max out all tiles in a space marine city before the game ends.
My thinking, well, it is a starting zone, you want better, well, that is what you are fighting and expanding for. As for being surrounded by water starting out, give me more of that! lol. I like choke points. Maybe not as big an issue in this game as an RTS, but I still find it handy. If you haven't tried the other races, then give them a shot ans see if you like the way they play.

It's an endless wave of units. The game has all slots filled with AI, so it's and endless wave of units I am fighting from 2 sides...
