Solo game setup
Anyone have a good setup for single player? I have just been rolling with max AI for map size and set to random and no teams. But it seems that whenever I encounter an AI they have been so busy fighting each other all they have left is a few damaged units so there is no challenge.

It would be nice to fight an AI that is not just remnants and has a proper force. Am I supposed to be setting the AI all on one team vs me? Would seem odd to have Nids and Necrons and SM all allied together though.

Personally i love playing 4vs4 "good vs evil" on huge map. Especially now that the Imperium has 4 factions and you can have a team of 4 being imperium-only.

Increase the difficulty by a notch. Which direction the AI expands depends a bit on luck and skill (sometimes multiple AI will find you at the same time regardless of how well you try to avoid them). I often have 1 AI on ultra hard or impossible to (almost) ensure there is at least 1 very hard fight.

But that would mean that you'd have to ally ... with Space Marines? Inconceivable!

No no ... if you want muscle, take ogryns. High tech? Adeptus Mechanicus. Faith in the emperor? The Battle Sisters have that covered. Heroic defenders of the Imperium? Clearly guardsmen! There is still an empty spot, you might say - well, the answer to that is clear. The solution - as always- is obviously: more guardsmen!

Mmmh ... that is an interesting idea. I used to play on hard - but aside from a few very unlucky setups it tended to be a tad too easy.

Very hard, on the other hand, seems to spam a bit too many units - perhaps just something one has to get used to - I managed to fight off an Ork - but was extremely lucky that the others basically just left me alone. Still, perhaps setting just one AI higher IS the solution. Although ... won't that just lead to them mopping the floor with the lesser opponents?
