Women's first, eco-lovers next and blackmen SM then.

PS: oh and all-ages version of the setting in the end
I like to imagine the ethereals as corrupt rulers who pacify the tau populace to maintain control. With farsight and that other commander having become aware of the situation and deserting. Hoping GW develops farsight enclaves into a proper tau rebellion and buffs their lore up to 40k scale so they can really participate in the major events that come along. Theyve been a young new squeaky clean faction for long enough imo.
That's because the forces of Chaos are the central antagonists in the overall narrative of the 40k universe. The xenos have always been, and always will be, just a bunch of side armies for the sake of adding diversity to the universe. You may not like it, but the conflict between the Imperium and the Dark Gods is the "main event" so to speak, so it only makes sense that most things related to 40k, be it video games, novels, or even the tabletop armies GW chooses to focus on are either going to be Imperium or Chaos related with xenos only getting attention when there is nothing new to add for the Imperium and Chaos.
Come on, you know that this is not the real reason why chaos is the big bad.
Its simply cheaper to sell recolored and maybe even slightly diffrent models then creating totaly diffrent/new models. And sell them as the big bads.
Nah, Chaos has been getting a lot of new models over the past few years, so it's not entirely just recycling for GW. It is about sales though. Space Marines, Astra Militarum, and Chaos Space Marines have always been GW's top selling armies so it just makes good business sense to continually focus on those armies.
That affects video game developers as well since people who buy 40k video games want to see and play their favorite tabletop armies. And since the Space Marines, Astra Militarum, and Chaos Marines are the most popular armies, those are the ones that are most likely to be included in video games since including them will go a long way to maximize sales.
And it's not just xenos that get ignored by GW. The Sisters of Battle haven't had their models updated in over 20 years now despite Sisters of Battle players constantly clamoring for an update. And they don't even want new models, they just want the old ones updated from pewter to plastic.
but i guess we derail this Thread now...
People want the plastic models because while they are more expensive, they allow for greater detail in the models and are easier to work with than metal. Plus, the plastic kits mostly come in multiple parts instead of one solid piece, making kitbashing a lot easier.
YEP, agree
All the factions have really good and deep lore. It would be a stretch to call any of them truly boring. Just depends on the presentation.
