How does Astra Militarum Transport works?
I put some Squads in may base and they appear in the transport tab. How do I deploy them?

Just click on their icon on whatever they are (base/fortress/.vehicle), then green slots for places where they can be deployed will appear. Click then again.

So they just deploy one tile wide? For what do they call it transport then.
you transporter moves first to the spot you want them, then unload...

Some transports , from other factions allow from farther tiles.

But anyways, It’s s still a transport, protection for troops inside, usually moves farther, etc...

the devs just bodged hard in that area as well. copy/past without renaming anything is easy, fast and dont cost much time=money...
they just taken the ability to carry units from the real transporters and plastered it 1o1 on stationary "units" without renaming it.

The spots in the citys are for save hp recovery so the units are not attacked then they heal. Not for transport....

All units that that have "Transport" ability (to include Cities and Towers) will deploy the cargo unit 1 hex away.

The transport unit needs the "Assault Vehicle" trait to allow units to deploy out of the transport using their full movement points. This reflects the ability to quickly dismount the transport.

Though in the case of the Imperial Guard, you're better off leaving troops INSIDE the Chimera since they boost the DPS of the unit.

Keep Commissar in Chimera so he can buff Chimera DPS and buff adjacent troops.

Just answering the literal title question - not the actual question for it has already been anwered:

How do Astra Militarum Transports work?

By the will of the Omnissiah, of course. By the will of the Omnissiah.
