Games like Gladius?
I really like turn based and hex grid games. I'm having a hard time deciphering which other Warhammer games are like this one. I'm not a fan of real-time anything. Suggestions?

There are no other Warhammer games like this one. Well. no 4x games, at least. There are a number of turn based tactical titles like Sanctus Reach or the newer Battlesector- from the same developers. Armageddon, I believe, is another example. Sanctus Reach is the only one I own and have played. It's fine, but it appears to be basically a series of more or less fixed tactical battles.

W40K: Battlesector is quite good, and I recommend it. It is a more set-piece, turn-based game, but it has a fine campaign and nails the W40K atmosphere. The big limitation is that it currently only has 3 races available to play, but more are in the works.

Unless you are into table-top W40K and don't care about a campaign, I would skip Sanctus Reach. It is just a series of maps where you take and hold a point until a timer expires. I found it extremely boring in just a few hours.

r Battlesector- from the same developers.
It's from the same editor (Slitherine). Which means it's sold by the same person.
It's not however developed by the same people.

It's as if you said that two brands of cereals are the same because they're sold in the same supermarket.

when you are able to get older games to run the old "Chaos Gate" from SSI is what you seek in 40k scenarios. not hex but square, and individual scale instad of unit scale. but a great turn based tactic game, no matter its antique already.

Ah, my mistake. Thanks for the little analogy, though I am familiar with the concept of 'publishers' and 'developers'. ;) Anyway, I thought I read it somewhere that Battlesector was made by the same people, but either I misread something or my source was wrong.

I have to admit that I found it a little weird how different Battlesector seemed to be. :)

Thank you, fellas. I hope the success of Gladius convinces them to do more like it. Many scenarios could be developed.

There aren't any other 4x games for 40k. Closest I guess would be Final Liberation with it being played on a world map and you have to manage your armies across the entire campaign but there's no base or city building in it.

Warhammer 40,000: Rites of War looks like this game's ancestor.
