HELP - Necron Can;t build second CIty
I have my Canoptek Spyder on another Necron Tomb that I want to build a city on, but the option to do so is grayed out, saying "Invalid Target".

What's the problem?

you must have enove resources (hover over the build icon, if one of the numbers is red its not enove in stock.
there must be min 4 tiles betwen 2 city cores.

How near are other cities?

1) Do you have enough resource to build it?

2) How far are you from another city (your own or an enemy's)

Not sure how to best count, but counting by eye:
6 tiles far from my nearest base
4 tiles from nearest enemy base

Cities (core) can only be founded if there are no other cities core (the tile that lets u click into city production/garrison/can attack people/has HP) within a 4 tile radius.

If you are sure you have sufficient resources, then it is likely that it is too close to the enemy city core.

Save the game and bring your Spyder to another spot and see if you can build it. if yes then it is probably coz it is too close.

the core is what counts, not just occupied city tiles.

Most likely the issue is what Stardustfire said: The Tombspyder is a bit picky and has to be on or right next to the tomb space already for you to be able to build a city. In contrast to all other city building options, this one does not account for you being able to move beforehand. Just move it on top and then build.

The distance thing is kinda automatically given seeing as I have never seen two tombs so close to each other.

You have too low density of tombs, it happens a bit on standard and very often on high (and basically always on very high).

Also enemy cities don't need to be on tombs ;).
According to OP, an enemy city was too close.

The distance was the problem. Enemy base was 1 tile too close, after destroying it I was able to build.
Plus I need to point out that you DO NOT have t o be on top of the tomb. It has a Range of 1 tile, stop saying you have to be on top.
