It is also a bit suspicious that the Tyranids faction don't have genestealers in their roster when genestealers are one of their most iconic units. But I could just be reading too far into things.
Genestealer Cults would be fantastic. As much as I love the Dark Eldar, I would also love to see GSC.
I don't find them all that interesting.
Dark Eldar.
If there are any more official factions I'd like to see them too.
The problem with the Genestealer cult is that according to the codex, the army would largely be an Imperial Guard army.
The planetary defence force in a generic setting would be manipulated by the cultists who had infiltrated the government and as the final stages before a Tyranid hivefleet comes, the planet would be gripped in civil war as the cultists seek to prevent the humans from mounting a coordinated defence.
Obviously Gladius isn't a generic setting so the perhaps devs could work with GW to come up with something specific here.
"Sisters would not add enough"?
Plenty of Heroes to choose from.
Zephyrim fast attack
Exorcist Heavy Support
Paragon warsuits
Celestian Sacresants
Arco-Flaggelants
Deathcult Assassins
Walkers: Penitents, Mortifiers, Anchorites
Tanks: Castigator, Immolator, Incarcerator, Repressor
Super-Heavy Mobile Cathedral
Half a dozen aircraft
And more.
The problem is - the Sisters are so under-utilised that most people don't realise what a versatile, interesting, and colourful faction they are.
Which is a real shame.
Each to their own.
How do you figure? They have a complete codex army the same as everyone else in the game.
Space Marines, as an example, have three heroes and 17 units not counting their stationary fortifications.
Genestealer Cults:
Heroes
- Patriarch, Magus, Primus, Acolyte Iconward, Jackal Alphus
Infantry
- Acolyte Hybrids, Neophyte Hybrids, Aberrants, Hybrid Metamorphs, Purestrain Genestealers
Additional Character types
- Abominant, Biophagus, Clamavus, Kelermorph, Locus, Reductus Saboteur, Sanctus
Light Vehicles
- Achilles Ridgerunners, Atalan Jackals
Heavy Vehicles
- Goliath Rockgrinder, Goliath Truck
Additional Vehicles from Broodbrothers rules
- Leman Russ, Basilisk, Sentinels
So in total that is four heroes and 16 units. Most of which are characters which definitely makes the Genestealer Cults play differently than the current factions as they're very heavily focused on single operatives supporting their smaller general roster.
Then you add the Broodbrothers options where the Cult steals from the Imperial Guard and they've got more than the space marines have currently.
At the very least they're in the same ballpark of content as the already in factions.
Not because I think Sisters wouldn’t be cool, but because we already have 3 human factions.
Tell that to GW.
It isn't this game's fault that GW keep retconning their IP and adding more Imperium factions.
This game is based on wh40k, and Sister of Battle are a wh40k faction.
So, they have just as much right to be here as any other faction thus far, whether they happen to be human or not.
I mean we have friggin' Adeptus Mechanicus as a faction ... I guess GW wanted to sell more books and minis but c'mon.
Yes, I thought adding the Mechanicus as a faction was a - peculiar - choice. While I have tried every faction (except for the Mechanicus), I find that I prefer playing the Imperium against - well - everyone else. And since I'm not really impressed with the Astra Militarum, that means, I mostly play the Adeptus Astartes. I suspect, I'm hardly unique in that. The Sisters would make for a refreshing change. And - done right - they could be the best looking faction in the game. Besides.....there's just something about having "The Girls" go toe to toe with Big Bad Uglies, which gets the juices flowing.....lol. I quite enjoyed their token contribution to Battlesector.
