"Monolithic Buildings" details?
How exactly does Monolithic Buildings work? How much is the efficiency bonus, how much is the malus, what exactly is a "building type" for it, etc?

Same building on same tile, or food farm = food farm, food farm =/= ore mine.

The modifier per building is about 10%?

In English "malus" is a type of tree, but in French, it means "penalty".

In English we already have a word for "penalty", it's penalty.

Fun fact: malus is also a perfectly good English word that happens to mean the same as it does in French. It's root is actually Latin, and it's meaning is more of an implied trading loss rather than a penalty.

The root for about half of all English words is Latin, like "penalty" which is the correct antonym for bonus.
Whats funny is is you can google this - malus

First thing that comes up is the wiki link for the tree.

Then rando stuff, then online dictionaries.

Now google this - penalty

First thing that comes up is the definition of the word "penalty"

Just sayin'.

Yeah the word exists, now please demonstrate how that meaning is a better fit than the word "penalty" to describe the negative modifier that this game imposes.

Definition of penalty
1: the suffering in person, rights, or property that is annexed by law or judicial decision to the commission of a crime or public offense
trespassing forbidden under penalty of imprisonment
2: the suffering or the sum to be forfeited to which a person agrees to be subjected in case of nonfulfillment of stipulations
A penalty was imposed on the contractor for breach of contract.
3a: disadvantage, loss, or hardship due to some action
Loss of privacy is one of the penalties you pay for fame.
b: a disadvantage (such as loss of yardage, time, or possession of the ball or an addition to or subtraction from the score) imposed on a team or competitor for violation of the rules of a sport
The team was given a penalty for the foul.
4: points scored in bridge by the side that defeats the opposing contract —usually used in plural

in every case I have ever seen, "penalty" is the correct word for what is actually going on and not "malus" because they have different meanings

And how would you call a positive modifier on the oposite of penalty?

Oposite of penalty is an award. These words usually mean one-time advantage or disadvantage caused by an action.
"Malus" on the other hand is an oposite of the "bonus" which may mean a constant or passive odifier (ie. difficulty settings).
Other word that could be used instead of malus could be handicap.

"What is the meaning of bonus malus?
Bonus-malus. The term bonus-malus ( Latin for good-bad) is used for a number of business arrangements which alternately reward (bonus) or penalize (malus). It is used, for example, in the call center and insurance industries."

Why do you even bother? You don't start a discussion with pedantic people.

Yes.
Weird that 'malus' is being picked out when I'm sat here trying to figure out what a monolithic building is.

dt Walter kinda already Answered the question. But also unit production buildings work with any buildings that makes production, food, ore, and influence if I'm not wrong. Hero building works with the loyalty building as well :v

And Habs don't decrease or increase anything as they don't use the perk
