I was playing on normal and ran into them around turn 150. It's 180 now and I'm chewing through their Baneblades. :3
I like the way IG play but have felt so underpowered, I'll have an army and think I'm boss ♥♥♥♥. Fighting AI left and right no issues than for some reason the decline comes, always when bladebane tanks come into play and their counter parts. I can lose 3 to 4 citites and be toppled and I'm always like damn. I can play any race on hard and win but IG I get own for some reason late game.
I also like playing 2v2v2etc where ever race has 2 teams on the map but then I play solo.
So it can get very hard if 2 necrons survive or 2 am having to try to toe to toe against two of their armies at once.
If one of them dies to another I have a fair chance for victory if it turns into a 1v1v1v1v1
Which can happen but it's rare that 1 faction doesn't take control of half the map before I meet them
Maybe it depends on the difficulty. When playing as IG on normal, the orks wiped out their two opponents on their side of the map, and I took care of my two. By the time I made it over there with a tank commander, a bunch of Leemans and basilisks and a couple of baneblades, they had a sizable army guarding their main two cities, but they were all low tier units - a boatload of mekguns, with a few battlewagons was almost all of it. I think I saw one squig, and no Gorkanauts. I won easily.
On the other hand, playing as Orks, also on normal, I was cruising along with a big army of late tier units, and then I came upon an even huger army of Necrons with powerful units, who promptly ate me for lunch and I lost the game.
