Need some Aeldari help please
Hey guys.

Completely new to playing the Aeldari so I wanted to ask if anyone can offer some guidance on what to build and what to go for in terms of Research and units.

Should I build infantry? Vehicles? Both? Any mandatory heroes?

As always would be very grateful for any and all advice :3

I like to start with Rangers, they do great damage against infantry, have good survivability, avoid overwatch, move far, have three range and are dirt cheap. A group of Shining Spears with super jink can tank most damage for a turn and hit hard when upgraded. These units will get you to the midgame.

Midgame I go for Wave Serpents with Fire Dragons inside and Fire Prisms. Keep your squishy Fire Dragons safely in the transport and pop out to melt ♥♥♥♥.

Always make use of their awesome fire then move, try and hide inside a transport to be completely safe.

All the early units need food so make sure you have some. Later units use ore.

I also like to get an influence building early as it is really useful. Save up and get the Avatar of Khaine and buy a bunch of gear for him (+armor, +damage, + armor penetration, life steal) he will be your city killer for the game.

I like to make all the heroes, just need to understand that they are not particularly tanky. Use Doom to delete tough units and cities.

Thanks for your help!

Are the War Walkers or Wraithblades worth it at all?

Oh and what's "Doom"? Is it a hero ability?

Do not make any Guardians. Try to get to Banshees ASAP, and use them instead as your mainstay cheap melee infantry. They only cost a little bit more, but they are awesome!! Supplement them with Rangers (also cheap) as they are the only inexpensive Ranged unit. Get the Spiritseer (not expensive) hero for healing and shields. So your basic army for many turns in the beginning is just Rangers and Banshees with at least 2 Spiritseers. Then as the game progresses, wing it.

As stated, when you get the hang of the Craftworlds fire then move.., you start seeing how great they are. Happy Hunting.

War Walkers are expensive but hit really hard. Wraithblades are a great tough melee infantry that hits like a truck. If their 3 move is too slow for you try and keep them in the faster Wave Serpents.

Guardians problem is they're really squishy. They hit really hard and are cheap. Just have to keep them alive. Try to use a jinking Shining Spear in cover to eat the overwatch then run in your Guardians to kill the target. If you still have some when you get Wave Serpents use them to keep them safe.

'Doom" is a hero ability from the FarSeer.

Also make use of the morale debuff spells as shattering the enemies morale gets you a huge damage buff and debuffs their damage. In general try and use morale to hurt the enemy. If you kill all the weak units nearby a big super unit you can make the super unit have poor damage output and take increased damage. This is the key to winning on the harder difficulties.

I tend to focus on infantry first, get grenade upgrades and barracks asap to churn out infantry and with research get two core items in each so you can work towards Fire Prisms. They tend to better at defence than offence but the Warp gates are key as you need to grab 1 or two nearby. Later on with powerful forces (or just a big group) you can landgrab those in the middle of nowhere for future use\distraction. I tend to just use infantry for defence and work my way upto the Fire Prisms to replace them as quickly as you can. Remember to stack buildings for construction and vehicles to speed it up alot quicker. I tend to focus cities on 1 purpose - 1 for infantry and specials, 1 for vehicles and aircraft etc. Once you progress you can work to your bigger vehicles\titans and these give you the power to fight > defend etc. but make use of their infantry when its right to as Banshees and other infantry are useful if you make use of cover or jump out of a transport. Also, defend land where there is the narrowest gap to focus your fire, and form your units in layers as the AI will simply charge and expect you to do the same, but only attack when you have a steady stream of unit, and when you do....creep like a hamster and use the Fire Prisms to simply establish killing any attackers ..later use just aircraft and anything big.

Be careful at the start too, as you will be weak and always withdraw weak units to a base to repair and have special characters around to support you.

They are fun and excellent at getting forces around the map, be it for exploring or supporting your army or a friend.

Ranger/Banshee combo is super good. I don't bother with Guardians at all (although I'm trying a few new things with them because they are admittedly ridiculous when they get the first shot).

Fire Dragons are your first high-damage anti armor unit and are useful into endgame.

Both the Autarch and the Spiritseer are bomb-sauce. The spiritseer can also heal VEHICLES. The Autarch ultimate drastically improves your economy and stacks with multiple Autarchs.

Wave Serpents are insanely useful on any map larger than Tiny.

You have the ability to expand into a second city exceedingly rapidly; take advantage of this.

Once you get rolling with a fleet of Fire Prisms and infantry to back them up it's usually game over. IF it goes past that, Wraithblades are meh, War Walkers are godly, Wraith Knights are alright and Scorpions are obscene.

Generally there's no Aeldari start that's not food-heavy so depending on your starting location you may need to prioritize the Exquisite Cultivation tech to boost your farms.
