"Do not change the loyalty bonus/malice on your own faction, doing so will make you ineligible for any victory achievements."
(It should be "malus").
A mistake :
Krak grenades are trash. Never take them. The only reason to take them is to waste research. They suck. They very much suck. Forget they even exist.
I find Stormraven much more enjoyable to do this achievement, because Stormraven goes woosh.
I love Stormraven. They're the best cheese unit. If I had to be reincarnated in W40k setting, I'd like to be a Stormraven.
The research in the krak grenades slot doesn't matter anyway so it doesn't matter if the Krak Grenade sucks. If Krak Grenades can even do a fraction more damage than the basic bolter attack then its worth it for the pace of the guide. I ended up not using them anyway, a couple of sets of Meltabombs doing the job.
My first thought for getting the achievement was to mass air like the Stormraven to circumvent having to deal with ground army but I wanted to do the achievement as quickly as possible to have to kill as few cities as possible.
Wouldn't massing assault Marines with Melta Bombs be more efficient then?
With their jump giving them +1 movement (it's currently in beta but will soon be live), the Hammer of Wrath buffing the Melta, I think you could have an even higher burst than with Devastators. (And it solves the fact that you call for Krak grenades. Assault Marines and Hammer of Wrath are both T2 tech)
In this case though, I wouldn't try to keep the Necrons near their city. Instead I'd try to bait them with a Fortress, further and further away.
With the orbital scan, you can see where they are and where they go and avoid them, while going for their city/ies.
Not sure how much avoiding them is possible on the tiny map you picked. If you left some cover though, it could help you hiding yourself while you go around them.
I will admit that I kind of handicapped myself by getting into a mindset where rather than thinking about kills, I didn't want to attack anything but the HQ at all lol.
