Advice vs Gargantuan Squiggoths
I have an Ork foe pinned between two Chaos armies composed mostly of Landraiders and helltalons but I can't finish them off due to the narrow straights which have kept me alive for most of the early to late game. (VH Game)

But they have 4-5 Squiggoths and the few Defilers I have just don't seem to compare in melee combat whenever I try to push in on their city and shooting them at ranged is a painfully slow process.

Send heldrakes. They can't be killed by squiggoths. Slow, but it works.
Can you send the defilers the long way around them?

I can but they just run into another literal line of Squiggoths.

The only way I could force them out is by filling every other hex with Heldrakes, because even a small force gets netted by their AA guns and get shot down due to not being able to fly out for repairs.

They're just too strong behind city walls.

Nevermind about those Orks because I just peaked at the map after Surrendering....

A huge IG force is approaching from the West. Their gear will dig out the orks easier than mine can.

If they have such a huge defending force in such a small space, and are protected by incredibly narrow approaches, but you control the rest of the map you'd probably be better off going for a quest win than trying to grind through that, or backing off and trying to lure them out past the chokepoint where you can engage them with a bigger army instead. You've got a situation that benefits the defenders to an absurdly massive degree - I don't think it's a Squiggoth problem per se, put 4-5 of any of the end-game units in a city with a chokepoint like you describe and it'd be incredibly hard to break though.

Its impossible. I'd need something like guard flyers and artillery to flush em out.

Chaos just doesn't have the Super heavy units to cut them out.

I didn't know there was a quest win, never finished one. Maybe that is the answer to playing SM on large maps - just try to hold on and finish the quests. Of course I don't know all the steps since I haven't finished it.
