Quests need some more warning on what is going to trigger the events, and what is about to happen
It's happened multiple times now where a quest triggers while I'm in the middle of a war and the quest spawns 400 million enemies in my backline that handicaps me. They will de-cap all my points, stop any reinforcements from reaching my front line army, pillage my cities etc.

I can understand there being a way to win without killing the other factions, that's pretty cool. But them spawning literally on top of my cities unexpectedly is not.

Like in my current game as Tyranids on Very Hard with 6 AI (so it's been a long game and is a pretty big map). I'm fighting against the last remaining AI, pushing through their army to their city, when I kill an annoying Kastelan Robot that's been decaping my points near my base. Which was apparently the last remaining unit in the "Survive" quest line that I'd been ignoring for most of the game. I just killed anything that got near my captured points or attacked me and didn't actively seek them out.

3 freaking HUGE Tyranid armies spawn right in the middle of all of my cities (less than 1 turn walking distance from several of my major resource only cities) and start going nucking futs on my everything. I had to immediately retreat my army back through broodhives to defend my base, and lost a bunch of level 10 units including a Hive Tyrant just trying to disengage with the AI army I was in the middle of fighting.

By the time I pushed back the swarm of Quest spawned enemies and recaptured all my points and artifacts, the AI had rebuilt it's entire army and was ready for round 2 against my battle damaged army . . .

I ended up LOSING that game, solely because of the quest. By the time I was able to push back the hordes of quest enemies, the enemy had gotten a second win, completely rebuilt, and rolled in with an army stacked with Super Heavies at full health. My Army was now half dead and scattered all over the place.

I think there should be a bit more warning before gigantic hordes spawn from quests, or some indicator what will spawn them. With the "Survive" quest for Nids, I had no way to know the robot wasn't just a normal neutral spawn, nor a way to know it was the final one needed to spawn the horde. Maybe color them differently if they are quest enemies at least?

Agreed. Happened to me plenty of times. An army of enslavers spawn around my cities as my AM army is fighting on the other side of the map, and I lose half of them trying to disengage and go defend my base.

Literally the reason I quit my current AM run finished stomping some nids just for the chapter 6 quest to start out of the blue and spawn 9+ robots around my first base with some hydras to boot. Utterly unfair.

I just don't play with quests anymore. Sucks to not have the early bonuses but I really don't want to accidentally trigger those last quests.

Yep, I've started turning them off too for that reason. It's a shame, but man those spawning armies are brutal and hard to prepare for.
