Orks are FUN!
After almost 200 hours with the other factions I finally gave orks a proper try.

Orks are supper fun to play against the AI. There is a constant tension for war because it feeds your economy. This means you get to see more of the early game. The heroes are unique and useful. Most of the units are fragile so mistskes cost you. Good strategy really pays off in some phenominal attacks.

Love them! Thanks you for the awesome design Devs!

One thing I find weird about Orks is when you look at the armor values of their infantry:
2, 2, 2, 2, 2, 2, 2, 10
Meganobz feel like they don't fit in. I'm guessing they have such high armor in the tabletop as well? They have the same armor as SM terminators and more armor than machines literally made out of metal.
When I played Orks I didn't really see the use of Killa Kans. I guess they're only useful against lightly armored infantry, but they aren't really any better than Boyz with Stikkbombs. Once you're 2 research tiers later, you get Meganobz and they are better in almost every way anyway.

I think the low armour values encourages you to make a green tide on the map, maybe that is why they have such low armour, so you have to build a huge Ork army like in Lore with like 1 or 2 squads of mega nobz, so I understand the reasons behind it, but if you aren't very good at the whole mass production thing, then Orkz won't be your thing.

I don't mind the low armor units, what I find weird is the huge armor value of Meganobz. You are the low armor green tide until tier 6, then you just turn into green space marines because you spam nothing, but 11 armor Meganobz.

Yah I think the issue with Kans is that Meganobs are too easy to obtain but this is a general problem with all Factions at the moment. The teir 6-7 is too easy to get making most early game units absolete.

Meganobs are very cool and orky though and amazingly effective when boosted boy Meks and Docs.

I agree. I'd be way more okay with them if they were harder to produce and I agree this is a game wide problem that applies to all factions. I'll probably write a longer post about it in another thread.

The relative low stats of the Orks that force you to build up a large army is very well done,in the tabletop game as well you need a few dozens of boys to match a bunch of Space Marines.

What are the stats of Meganobz like in the tabletop? As far as I know, you can't make an army entirely out of Meganobz there, right? In Gladius they are kinda the Ork "bread and butter" unit, which I don't particularly like, like I said, I wish they (and most elite troops) were more rare.

There is no real rules to Orks. There was a Waaah! of thousands of Gorkonaughts for example.

So the issue with Kans is that they are weak to begin with and they dont benefit from any of the tech or hero buffs that can make them better.

Today on Kooking wit Thrakka: Da Battlewagon Jump Surpise!!!

Recipe: Fill Battlewargons (or Gorkonaughts) with fully buffed troops and da Boss. Next turn use Weirdboy to Da Jump Battlewagon next to an enemy city. The wagons can't do anything but da boys inside can! Watch as your Boss and his boyz take down a city in one turn. Waaaaagh!

I find the Orks pretty flexible - they can compete whether you want hundreds of Boyz or a clump of Gorkanauts and Squiggoths. They also scale up quite steeply - level 10 Boyz (if you can keep them alive that long) pack quite a punch, which is very much in line with the lore. It's actually really refreshing as I usually prefer the AM - it never gets any easier to have to use waves of Guardsmen as a human shield to keep your tanks alive...

Agreed havign to fight 20 Ctans and monoliths with no other units being produced is cray cray.

Orks spam Mega Nobz because nothing else stands up to all the armour SM spam.
