Tau KV128 Stormsurge - Is it me?
Man, I waited a long time to get this thing R&D and on the battlefield against the Orks and CSM, couldn't wait, and then I found it to be completely lacking in comparison to many of the Tau units at my disposal. It just lacks overall firepower, greatly under powered, does anyone else feel this way? I don't get the stomp thing either, what's the true benefit?

It does over 40 dmg against a Baneblade, with invulnability support systems it only gets 4 dmg from Baneblade, it costs half a Baneblade. It is overpowered as hell.

Also benefit of stomp is basically a second attack.

Yeah, it just does very little damage against for example other bases, infrastructure, HQ building attacks, were only about 6-8, stomp is about 4-5. Haven't had it go up against other vehicles much, was using for attacking bases. Tau are exceptionally good late game when you get invulnerability and my favorite, morale loss for one unit each turn, super handy.

Strange. It should also wipe out bases because they have less armor. Are you playing on open beta build 1.5.1? The unit stabilizer trait was bugged before. It should do double attacks when standing still.

Yeah in late game they seem unbeatable...even for Necrons and AM. I expect some nerfs in future patches like after all faction DLCs.

No, not using 1.5.1, sometimes I do the open betas, this time I didn’t. The stabilizer bug definitely makes sense, didn’t know that, appreciate the info.

Both the stabilizer and volley fire don't work in the live build.
