Rollgeon is on Steam: meet the dice roguelike and the team making it

Oct 18

Rollgeon has a Steam page. If you are reading this, you found it early.

Rollgeon is a turn-based tactical roguelike set in an abandoned casino, where your dice are your build. It is coming to PC, and the release is planned for 2027.

The bet

You wager your soul to get into a casino that closed centuries ago. Win, and the house grants you a wish. Lose, and the house keeps your soul.

The casino is empty, but the staff never stopped working.

Your dice are your build

Before you go in, you put together a bag of exactly five dice, and the type of each die is not decoration. It is arithmetic. The same Four of a Kind hits about three times harder rolled on d20s than on d6s, and the game shows you the damage formula while you play.

Carve your dice

Enchantments do not add numbers. They rewrite faces. Prime leaves a d12 with five sides: 2, 3, 5, 7 and 11. You chose those five.

There are 34 enchantments, offered by rarity at the Enchantment Altar. Bigger dice hold more of them, so specializing costs you something. Some of them are curses: Thirsty charges you gold every time the die joins a combo, and without gold the die sits out.

Play the hand, not the roll

Roll your dice and keep the ones you want. The combo scores only on the dice you kept. The hands come from the dice table you already know: Pair, Full House, Straight, Generala. There is nothing to learn before you can start scheming.

Fight on the grid

Combat happens on a tactical grid, and where you stand is part of the damage formula. The Warrior hits the same at any range. The Mage hits hardest at mid-range. Every enemy attack marks its tiles before it lands, so if you take the hit, you chose to.

Your active items roll their own die too. The face decides what happens, and some faces work against you.

The staff is still on shift

The Cashier shoves you across the room and then charges you gold for the trip.
The Croupier plants bombs and sets the floor on fire.
The Generala fights behind five House Dice. Each one left standing blocks one of your combos.
Slucky is a jelly king that splits into minions as it loses health.

Who is making it

Rollgeon is made by 3AM Studio, an independent team of seven in Buenos Aires, Argentina. We started the project in March 2026, and the game is fully localized in English and Spanish.

We build it in the open. We post devlogs here and on itch.io, the team shares progress weekly on Discord, and the current build has a bug reporter built in: press F2 and your report reaches us with a screenshot and the log.

How you can help

For a small team, the most useful thing you can do right now is add Rollgeon to your wishlist. Steam uses wishlists to decide who to show the game to, and you will get a notification when it launches.
