is this game for me?

Hello guys, just so you know I absolutely adored Madness Combat and its fanbase ever since I was a kid.
Also played the ♥♥♥♥ out of the Project Nexus Classic on my old pal's PC (ran like ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥). Had this game on my wishlist for a while out of curiosity but never decided to put money into it because of the shift in the artstyle compared to the Classic version.
With that said, artstyle aside, does the game play any close to its original? If not, is it worth playing regardless?

I mean it's basically the same but with more stuff (besides the artstyle).

the gameplay is far superior in most mechanics than classic, either being improved or tweaked.
the arena mode in special have a lot more stages to play other than the same hallway with 3 doors

There is a demo available which should give you a decent feel for whether or not you like the gameplay
only thing though is that the demo doesn't do a good job of explaining mechanics or anything since it gives the rather lackluster "tutorial" and dumps you in midway through the campaign instead of at the start
still, it should let you get a feel for the controls and basic mechanics, along with what's new and different from the first game
