Obscure Reference!
Did you guys know that during the Story Campaign for Madness: Project Nexus (this game,) the character Hank J. Wimbleton has goggles? This is, of course, a reference to Madness Gogglefication, a fanmade animation based on the hit game Friday Night Funkin, which is officially gonna feature Hank WITH his goggles whenever his week comes out (give it like a decade or two.)

Of course, one could make the argument that it's actually a reference to the Tricky mod for FnF, which the base game's team is obviously planning to plagiarise even though one of the main points of that game is to be a New-grounds tribute referencing a bunch of classic animations and games. That's a bit far fetched though. Personally, I think Hank having goggles in Project Nexus is actually an attempt at an original idea, but they accidentally ended up referencing the classic New-grounds series, "Madness Combat."

My actual theory for real this time no cap I swear please don't stop reading is that Krinkels saw Tricky from the official mod for the official FnF game and plagiarised it by going a decade or two back in time with the time machines that will soon exist. He then unintentionally created a time loop where Ninjamuffin was inspired by Krinkels to put Hank in the Tricky mod, and Krinkels plagiarised that mod to create Madness Combat even though he probably should've known it exists already. Does this make sense? No? IT DOESN'T NEED TO! Because that's just a theory; A MADNESS THEORY! Please leave now. Why the heck did you read this? I don't think even I did.

TL;DR Hank from Madness having goggles is a reference to Hank from Madness.

if you don't know, actually the reference clearly is about Synthetik: Legion Rising with the "madness goggles" item, that guess what? is older than fnf AND it is exactly lik hank goggles!!!, clearly direct reference.
