Optimization
Since devs said this game will run even on a potato, will the game run better once the full game get released?
My old pc just couldn't run the demo even at the lowest settings available, i suppose the demo is running like that because something went wrong when developing demo version, or everything was going well but once it got released everything messed up.

I also expected way better performance actually. I have a pretty decent mid-range pc and I should be able to run this maxed out with ease, but no, it's just about 60-70fps on max. That's not a "potato can run this game" kind of deal lol.

No problems here with a Ryzen 5 3550H and a GTX1650 with 4 dedicated GB + 8gb on the system. BUT... No problems until a major drop in the performances during the boss fight. Since that, the game was much slower with fps going down to even lower than 30 fps.
But before that it was running absolutely fine and perfect.
Could be a "demo optimization" thing or not... I hope it's the 1st one because if the fps drops after a few minutes playing the game, it will be a problem.

try lowering the resolution, helps a lot

I didn't have any problems with FPS, and I have a gaming laptop. Not a gaming PC, a gaming laptop. Maybe it's something to do with how old the computer is? I don't know anything about computers, so i might be wrong, but if you have a 3 year old computer maybe that's why it lags?

Good for you, but they said it's gonna be optimized for old computers.

Oh. Well, it is a demo, so it might be an older version of the game?

Yeah, that might the case.

@Maxim_S - Hey bud, can I get the specs on your machine? Also, can you tell me the areas where you had the *WORST* performance, and the *BEST* performance? (email to swain@projectnexus2.com if possible)

For test purposes, can you try those areas again after confirming you're not running any other applications other than Steam and MPN?

I had a wise man once tell me "The devil is in pre-optimization", meaning you make the game first, and then optimize the hell out of it after. The final build will be much faster, but we need to know where the problem areas are first.

Thanks!

I just emailed Swain, if anyone wanna see the message here it is

OS: Windows 7
Processor: AMD A4-3305M APU with Radeon(tm) 1.90 ghz
Cores: 2
Graphics Card: AMD Radeon(TM) HD 6480G
RAM: 4 GB (3,48 GB available)

I'm not sure if that's all, let me know if you need more info on my pc specs.

I had the worst performances in main menu (especially when there's grunts on the screen) and the hub area (the main levels weren't running that well but they were quite playable), and the best i had were in small rooms and that final room on the first level, where some nerds come out after hacking the computer.

The game is running much better, the hub area and main menu are still running quite bad (11-16 FPS), but the main levels are running at 25~ FPS, which is pretty good.

Here's screenshots of the rooms that are running worse than others:

And here's one that even crashed my game (i'm not sure if it's just me or it crashes for everyone).

At this point i stopped going further, i hope this helps.

Played the game on a laptop.
2.5 Ghz Dual core, 8GB ram. Intel HD Graphics 620.
Graphics set to low, resolution set to 1600 x 900 60Hz. Game was in windowed mode.
No anti aliasing, vsync, bloom or grain. Amount of bodies, blood splat, etc. set to default.

Main menu ran at 15-20 fps. Same with hub area.
FPS stayed at steady 30 during mission areas. Even the boss fight only had it fall to 25.

That's so weird I have a decent PC
Specs: 1060 6GBVRAM 16GBRAM i5-7400 and I run it on 30fps on default settings, I hope it's just the demo, the graphics of this game look like my old integrated laptop could run it perfectly fine, (no insult yeah, the graphics look cool but they're not GTAVI level obviously lol)

i have a very decent pc. 1 year ago i had laptop that was even worst than my actual pc. my actual pc can literally run Titanfall 2 60 fps with high graphics. but the now my actual pc can't run the game. but my old laptop was able to run it at literal 60 fps at low graphics. but i still don't understand. if this pc is like 4 times better why does the game don't even runs in playable fps? only the main menu is the one that runs good

It could be a memory leak
