Uplay required, or optional?

I wanted to get this game, but decided not to do so when I heard something about the game forcing us to sign up with Uplay in order to play it. However, I've now been told that Uplay was just to receive special bonuses or something like that.

Anyways, what I'm asking is for those who have bought the game for PC on Steam: Do I need to make a Uplay account, or is that just used for pre-order content? If it's just pre-order, then I don't really care. But if I need Uplay to enjoy the game normally, then it's a deal breaker.

Denuvo doesn't require an account, stop spreading misinformation. I have two games protected with Denuvo on my account (MGSV and Sonic Mania) and neither of them required anything more than Steam login.

Answering to OP, yes, you'll need an uPlay account to play this, but only that.

What in the actual hell? i do have denuvo games in my library, and im not proud of it, but i never had to make a Denuvo account.

Ah, well then I'm not going to buy the game. I'm already using Steam, I don't want to go through the trouble of setting up a Uplay account just to play this one game. Heck, I never even heard of Uplay until it was announced for FBW, and I'm already seeing legions of people yelling about how much Uplay is garbage.


Too bad, I was really looking forward to this. But forcing me to sign up for something I have absolutely zero interest in is a deal breaker for me.

I'll just settle for watching Let's Plays.
