Unicorn's Blood!

Ok, it sounds like the new swear word of Ignus is "Unicorn's Blood!"... like when u prick your finger on the corpse flower thorns... "Unicorn's Blood!"

But seriously... I just killed 4 unicorns, and not one drop of blood did i get.

Is that normal now?

In my experience magic find has a ton to do with whether or not I get blood as a drop. In 20 kills with ~100 magic find I got 2 blood. In 20 kills with a magic find ~230 I got 14 blood. Sometimes they seem bound and determined not to give you one, regardless. Try increasing your magic find or waiting til you can equip a rabbit's foot. Sounds silly but it matters!

I've had good luck lately, but when I farmed them on a previous server I was averaging about 25% drop rate. Lately I'd say it's 33% to 50%. 4 kills is too low a sample size to know for sure. I'd guess just bad luck.

(To Kiti's point, my magic find has increased along with my perception of better drop rate on those.)

It must be nice to find a unicorn, I been playing for months and only found one, which i tamed. Does anyone know where the unicorns spawn? Everyone tells me the southeast, well I haven't seen any!

They are on the islands to the east and to the sw. I had no trouble getting enough unicorn blood for the re-spec potion by farming those spots twice.

The first time I farmed them on official server I got 5 Unicorn Blood drops from 6 Unicorn kills. Plus over time I got three from camp chests.(edit: or may have been meteor chest)

You already familiar with the drop of sickly hearts? If no, you will be suprized more than with the drop of unicorn blood. By the way, there is only 7 unicorns (or 8, but with the last I'm not sure, because it too rare) spawns on the all map, so blood is not so rare.

Anyway, better to catch the rift loot. It often contain Eliksir of Amnesia which can be deconstructed to receive 5-7 unicorn blood.

the reason i asked the question to begin with was, when the game first came out, unicorn blood was an automatic drop...I mean, there's only 7-8 unicorns on the map. It's already pretty rare, why make it harder?!

And what happens when ppl build on those spots? I've already lost one spawn site on my server to a base.
