Crossplay with Consoles
I am curious to see whether this game will have any crossplay with the console versions on release? Since coming out on both Xbox and PS4, I understand PS4 may be iffy, but Xbox is normally more then willing to allow Crossplay. Can a Dev or someone who has seen this info posted somewhere get back to me about this inquiry?

Its a very small part of the market TBH and if PVP is involved it doesn't work well for the console peasants. This is the first time ive seen this question asked for this game but maybe the devs have thought about it.

Well overall, crossplay has been done for many types of games and worked. I mean, crossplay works really well in Sea of Thieves, so just hoping that it may be available here. Mainly because one of friends doesnt have a strong enough PC to play, so even if its just something that can happen on Private Servers would love to see it.

Well, considering you can now use a mouse and keyboard on Xbox One, as long as the game has support for it, then it should be doable.

It'll never happen with Playstation, though. Sony have said time and time again that they'll never do cross play on their console. They do it with Final Fantasy XIV but that's because the game was developed exclusively for Playstation as far as consoles go and PC.

Cant you just play the xbox games in Win10 these days?

Ive watched videos of Sea Of Thieves and the console players just get destroyed by the PC players. It sad to see the poor aim and slow reactions they have.

You could, but you could also read the part where i said:

I did read your post but I would be surprised if console players start using KB&M in any great numbers. They could i guess but it seems unlikely to me as most play on the sofa.

That's just an assumption. Sure, most play on the sofa but that doesn't include all.

Many console gamers play on the same spot they use when playing on their PC, hooking their console up to their monitors. I sometimes do that myself.

Mouse and keyboard support has been a hot topic and in extremely high demand on Xbox One for a few years now.

Well, no. Time won't tell heh.

The only way this game could get cross play is if the game is released on the Windows store.

Steam and Microsoft won't ever allow for cross platform between the two platforms since Windows store is a competing brand and platform.

I'm getting the game for my brother and myself on Xbox One regardless though. :)

Ah yeah. Yeah time will tell. Apparently it has become super popular already on the Xbox One.

Would still like to see if a Dev could respond to this. Really hoping to get a direct answer rather then just player input hoping to see this.

It's common knowledge.

Unless the game is released on the Windows Store, there's never gonna be cross play between Xbox One and PC.

PS4 and PC = Forget about it. Sony has been adamant about not wanting Cross play for any games apart from FF XIV.

This is where you are severely wrong. Considering the new COD will be cross-play. Skyforge is cross-play and even Rocket League is Crossplay. Nothing is a definitive answer, which is why a Dev comment means 10000% more then a random that has zero background knowledge on this. Common knowledge would say it is possible, not that I should forget about it.

SkyForge does not have cross play. Not sure where you got that information.

This is taken from their support website.

Will there be cross-platform Support?
Due to technical limitations, players on the PC version and the PS4 version will not be playing together or interacting with each other inside the game.

I've also never seen any Cross play between the PC and Xbox one for SkyForge.

It is as i said common knowledge that Sony is not in favor of Cross Play, and they've also said this several times in the past. You can read an article on it here: https://www.windowscentral.com/playstation-doesnt-allow-cross-play-because-its-network-superior-says-sony-boss

They've recently opened up more on the subject and stated that they're ready for it, but the only games they have with actual cross play to this date is very limited

Fortnite allows you to play with friends on Android and iOS devices, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PC/Mac systems.

Dauntless allows players to play against users on both PC and Xbox One. Once the game launches on Nintendo Switch and mobile devices, developer Phoenix Labs has stated that cross-play will be enabled on those devices too.

Rocket League is enabled for cross-play across PS4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and Steam users on PC. It is not yet known if the Epic Games acquisition will affect this in any shape or form.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare pairs players based on their input device. PS4 players will play against those using a controller, meaning Xbox One. The only time a PS4 player will come up against someone on PC is if someone in their party is playing using that device.

There are of course, Final Fantasy XIV and DC Universe Online which had Cross Play between PS and PC since they both released, but that's due to other reasons. DC Universe was developed for both PS and PC at the same time, same with Final Fantasy XIV.

While all that being said, Sony might open up for more cross play after Modern Warfare releases. Only time will tell really.

Xbox already have a few PC <> Xbox One cross play titles, but then again, they've always been more open for it compared to Sony.

However, for an indie title such as this, it'll be hard to get into Cross play, especially with consoles, since Microsoft already takes a ton of money just for updates to games on the Xbox Live store (roughly $50,000 per update according to the list i had back in 2017).
